章節 1348: Chapter 916: Visited (End) _1

In the middle of a dark and empty star zone, one can see the faint light of newborn stars scattered like dots. A star that has yet to reach maturity may not be so bright, but it has already left its mark in the cosmos.

Next to one of these newborn stars, a small figure floats among a mess of disarrayed objects, pressing a hand to her forehead in frustration.

This pile of objects is great in size and chaotic. Some look like cabins, some look like docks, and some are clearly propulsion parts of a spaceship.

Polaris heaved a deep sigh, turning towards the Blue Spirit beside her and asking, "Are you serious? You're telling me, to categorize all these things by myself, down to the specific parts, and then roughly assemble them back into their original shapes?"

The Blue Spirit, standing on one of the debris, nodded and said, "Of course, you don't need to design anything. These are the schematics provided by Tony Stark."

"These were his exact words - during the previous transportation, we have retrieved over ninety-five percent of the parts from the spaceship and the star port. Theoretically speaking, we should be able to piece them back together."

"Of course, I'm not expecting them to function as they used to after reassembly. You just need to restore them to their original form."

"I..." Dumbfounded, Polaris took almost twenty seconds before she managed to speak, "Are you hearing yourself?"

"You and that Shiller, you riddled all this with conspiracies, using an alien spaceship to crash into an alien star port, disintegrating them, and now you want me to piece them back together... Are you out of your minds?"

"If you wanted a functioning end product, why did you let the spaceship crash into the star port in the first place?"

The Blue Spirit shrugged and activated the communicator strapped to his arm. Stark's voice came through, "It seems you didn't pay attention to our pre-battle plan."

"The mothership no longer belongs to the latest battleships of the Skrull Empire. By the time the Skrull general sailed this ship out, it had already seen many years of service. Plus, many years of disuse and Gana's neglect in maintenance have left the condition of the ship greatly worrisome."

"Its size is too large, too many gunports, excessive firepower, highly conspicuous, and there might be alien communication devices we don't know about. In short, it's hard for the human race to make use of such a large spaceship."

"But still, even so, the Skrull Empire's main ship employs a special casting process. The majority of the human race's weapons and cutting tools cannot dismantle the spaceship. I can't possibly do it all by myself, right?"

"Besides, dismantling it like this would be too wasteful, and Shiller, that cheapskate, would never agree."

"He wishes he could bargain for gold bricks scrapped from a trash can lid. If we were to just scrap a huge spaceship like this, his grumbling will definitely be the last thing I hear before I die."

"He wants to trade this ship for an old star port of the Kree. We got that information from a map found on a Kree guard ship. Although that old star port has outdated technology, it fits the human race perfectly."

"But similarly, we can't drag the star port away. This Skrull mothership is not a ferry, the mage's teleportation portal is not big enough, and we can't flee the crime scene as fast as we hoped."

"The best option would be to break down both of them, and use the mage's teleportation technology to transport them back in several batches."

"Although we can just leave them as debris and study their individual technologies, but since you mutants possess such powerful abilities, why not reassemble them? Isn't it like building blocks?"

"Building blocks…" Polaris covered her face with both hands, then said, "Tony Stark, even though I can't scrounge up two gold bricks from a trash can lid, I'm pretty sure I can make the lid of the trash can behind you fly up and hit you in the back of the head to knock some sense into you!"

"How could I possibly assemble these things???!!! Even if I have the blueprints, do you know how many pieces there are here? I can't even recognize what part of the ship these pieces come from!!! Just like these two…"

Polaris waved her hand, and two pieces approximately her height floated over. Both pieces were dark and completely unmarked, almost identical in size and shape, and it was impossible to tell from Stark's blueprints where they were supposed to go.

"I won't even ask you to tell me where these pieces should go on which part. You just need to tell me which of these two pieces are from the star port, and which are from the spaceship..."

Stark huffed and said, "The piece on your right is a fragment from the base of the star port. The damaged area reveals a very evident support structure while the piece on your left is a fragment from the spaceship, specifically from the supporting structure under the gun port. It has clear heat-resistant coating and shock-resistant structure..."

"Lorna." For the first time, Stark was not using his usual sarcastic tone when stating Polaris's name. He said earnestly, "I can assure you, you are capable of much more than you think."

"Perhaps, you're feeling tired now, but you're far from reaching your limit. I don't know why you're always reluctant to use your own power. But now, the arrow is on the string, and it has to be released."

"Once the object is assembled, we'll haul Star Port to the edge of the Solar System as a docking area for future spaceships. And, the entire spaceship will serve as the mutants' reward for this project."

Upon hearing this, Polaris felt her heart jolt and repeated, "What did you just say??? As long as I can assemble the spaceship, it's ours???!!!"

"Yes, you've heard it right. If you restore the spaceship now, you can directly drive it back to Andromeda Galaxy Sky Island's side. I believe the natives of Andromeda Galaxy will warmly welcome you."

Polaris swallowed hard, listening to the ferocious thumping of her heart and said incredulously, "Are you saying... the mutants will soon possess a spaceship??? Such a grand and majestic ship..."

"Indeed. Although for you and Magneto, a spaceship isn't very important. Still, after all, if the mutants are to migrate on a large scale, they should at least have a transport ship. You're moving, not fleeing. You can't rely on mental power to resist cosmic radiation, can you?"

"The mutants are migrating on a large scale????" Polaris' fingertips were trembling, "Is this Professor X's decision?"

"No, this is your decision. If you can fix this ship, naturally, you can drive it and transport the mutants who aren't living well to Sky Island. But if it is not fixed, then migration might have to wait."

After ending the communication, Blue Spirit moved closer with concern, "Wait a second, Lorna, don't get too excited. Your breathing rate is off. Calm down... right, take a deep breath, inhale... exhale... inhale... exhale..."

Polaris held her chest, closed her eyes, and swallowed again, her voice trembling slightly, "Do you know? Do you know... Blue Spirit, I don't even have my own house because my neighbors disagreed with the landlord selling the house to the mutants. I don't have my own car because it's challenging for mutants to obtain a driver's license..."

"But now, I will have my own spaceship! As long as I can assemble it, I can even drive it away... Oh, wait, even if I can physically assemble it, how do I start it?"

Polaris looked down at the blueprint and said, "The startup system for this thing must be complicated, right? That Stark always boasts. Maybe he is just trying to cheat me into exerting more effort..."

But then she pondered and said, "But, even if I could only assemble it, I could still tow it back to Andromeda. Even if I couldn't, I could search for... Nevermind, I'll just first try and assemble it. It's just a bigger version of Lego bricks after all."

Seeing the terrible glint of greed flashing in Polaris' eyes, Blue Spirit took a small step back, "Lorna, I'm going to leave. If you need anything, just call me."

Polaris could no longer hear any sound, she closed her eyes, beginning to focus on sensing the magnetic field.

Magnetic field is a fascinating thing, everything around us causes changes in it, and the things Polaris can control are more than the magnetic field, her ability is essentially no different than Magneto's.

The reason why her performance in daily life is far behind Magneto's is that she has always been resisting deeply exploring her abilities.

But this time, Polaris felt that a flame named 'greed' was ignited inside her.

It's not a tiny house, not an ordinary car, but a spaceship, the flagship of the most advanced civilization in the cosmos. No need to purchase, no need to apply, she just needs to use her abilities to assemble it.

After calming her mind, Polaris began by using her ability, scanning all the fragments, searching for any signs on them.

But she quickly realized that with her current control over magnetism, she couldn't precisely feel every part of the components. She needed to sense the magnetic field more accurately.

However, limited by her human body, she found that she could no longer touch more.

After pausing for a few seconds, Polaris' figure vanished in mid-air. She temporarily changed her life form, completely merging with the magnetic field.

Then, her sense of touch became more sensitive, covering every corner of the mechanical parts, and then began to permeate inwards, feeling the way the matter composed.

The subtle changes in the magnetic field were clearly visible, and the friction between molecules was deafening. When identifying the ownership of the components at a microscopic level, everything became very simple.

In just a few minutes, thousands of broken parts were divided into two groups and then began to assemble gradually.

During this process, Polaris had to release enough power to control all the components of the enormous spaceship, for precise assembly. Removing parts damaged in the explosion, connecting the parts that could be conjoined, and assembling them in the most appropriate way.

The schematic in mid-air slowly drifted by, the shape of a fragment matching a part in the design. In an instant, the component returned to its place, and Polaris' silhouette appeared again.

Before her, the massive spaceship had been restored to its basic shape. Although some parts of the external body with a coat of paint were left at the site of the accident, it didn't affect the overall configuration of the spaceship.

But Polaris frowned, apparently, things were not going well.

After several hours of integration and stitching, she found that she could not assemble the spaceship. Although the spaceship had now restored its overall structure, it was still a pile of fragments.

Polaris felt it was impossible to create glue out of thin air, and she didn't have any adhesive specifically made for assembling spaceships.

Therefore, she had to seek another method, which was to connect them using magnetic force.

But it wasn't easy. Each fragment's junction with other parts was different, and if one part was not adhered well, everything would fall apart.

It was a tedious, repetitive, and extremely strenuous task. Polaris spent a full week in this vast universe space.

She had no idea how many times her power had been exhausted. She knew that, from initially not being able to complete three parts in an hour, to finally bonding dozens of parts perfectly in ten minutes, all her power had been released, repeatedly honed and promoted.

And then, Polaris found that she had a better method to accomplish all this.

Magnetism is not the end, but the beginning. Above it, there is a broader microscopic world, the door to which had been opened for her.

The movement and interaction of molecules, the friction and collisions within molecules, are more delicate, more potent, and more precisely controllable.

A small-chance factor, the whole big world, everything is under control.

When Polaris opened her eyes, her figure was still tiny compared to the massive spaceship, but this magnificent spaceship, like a loyal giant, pledged allegiance to her.

The moment Polaris stretched out her hand, her hair danced, a flash of light burst open, and countless flowing lights slid over the ship.

The traces of the explosion gradually disappeared, and as if time was flowing backward, the parts came together at an extremely strange but extraordinarily rational angle, like a healing wound, reconstituting into a whole again.

At the time of her coronation, there will be a rebirth of the loyal warriors.

At this moment, Polaris' fear of ability loss began to fade, as she finally understood the reason why Magneto dared to release and use his power.

Magnetism, they are not their weapon, but their self. Planets, they are not their dwellings but their children in their arms.

In this vast universe, they are the ocean.
