章節 1645: Chapter 1115: Father and Son (35)_1

A golden flash of light streaked through the darkness, and a bright orange portal materialized in the dreary city alley. Three figures stepped out, an interesting trio that somewhat resembled a small family.

However, the family atmosphere seemed tense. Loki, holding Helen in his arms, swept his gaze from side to side, before finally breaking the silence. "This doesn't look like one of the Nine Major Kingdoms... Where exactly did you open the portal?"

Sylvie replied with a defiant huff, "In one of the Nine Major Kingdoms? Do you want Odin to find you that easily?"

With that, she walked out of the alley ahead of Loki, speaking up again as they moved along. "Even though I've been away for so many years, nothing drastic has happened in Asgard. Odin still holds her power supreme. No one can gain an advantage on her turf..."

Catching Sylvie's use of pronouns, Loki shot her a curious look. "In your world, Odin and Thor... are both women?"

Sylvie waved her hand dismissively, clearly tired of this line of questioning. More than one Loki had asked her the same thing. She replied dismissively, "This universe is matriarchal. Tuck away your stupid prejudices, or I won't be able to save you..."

Unexpectedly, Loki greeted this with a radiant smile. Then, Sylvie noticed a bright glow originating from behind her.

Turned around, she saw a soft white light encompassing Loki's form. When the light faded, a young black-haired girl stood in his place. She seemed much younger than Sylvie, no more than 20 by human standards.

The girl, Loki, was strikingly beautiful, a mix of innocence and aloofness. Sylvie exuded resilience and rugged life experience, like a tree sprouting from arid earth. On the other hand, Loki seemed like a sapling nurtured carefully in a castle garden, delicate with a streak of vulnerability.

Sylvie's eyes grew wide. As Loki approached, she tentatively reached out a hand, unbeleiving, wondering if this was Loki's illusion magic in play.

However, her magic talent confirmed that this was not a simple illusion. The transformation of Loki was divine and mysterious, devoid of any power fluctuations.

Loki looked up at Sylvie, stating, "Maybe the Time Management Bureau told you that you're the only female Loki across all universes. But clearly, that's not the case."

"You..." Sylvie was noticeably taken aback. But Loki simply smiled, flicked her shimmering black hair, and moved on with Helen, leaving the alley behind.

Looking up at the starry sky, Loki analyzed the celestial pattern, soon making an educated guess. "So, you're planning to use the free transportation station here to get near the territories of the Nine Major Kingdoms?"

Sylvie, having composed herself, waved Loki over. "Do you have a better idea? I once served as a civil officer in the Shi'ar Empire from another universe. So I'm quite familiar with this place. Let's manage our identities first, then we'll find a broker."

Suppressing her complicated emotions, Sylvie led Loki to a nearby agency.

The Shi'ar Empire is a multi-racial Commercial Empire bustling with diversity. There are many foreign populations, hence, centers for alien registration are plentiful.

Having once worked here, Sylvie knew the procedures. They chose an anthropomorphic race for their temporary identities, procured temporary ID proofs, and located a teleportation brokerage firm.

"Hello, I'm Sylvie. This is our temporary ID. We would like to teleport to the outskirts of the Nine Major Kingdoms." Sylvie handed over the ID proofs to the receptionist.

Soon a cheerful Shi'ar Empire employee wearing a uniform escorted them to an office, offered tea to Sylvie, and asked amicably, "You're new here, right?"

Sylvie, feeling right at home, responded, "Correct. As newly registered foreigners, we should be able to use free point-based teleportation once, right? A friend of mine used to work here... I know the rules already, so there's no need to explain."

The broker nodded, "It seems like it. Arno! Arno! Get them a couple of transit passes. Children are free."

A four-legged Centaurus soon brought the transit passes. When Sylvie took them, she looked surprised. "The Shi'ar Empire's teleport station near the Nine Major Kingdoms was in the Kuiper Belt, right? What's this about the Centaurus constellation? And this dimension doesn't look right... When did this place end up near the Nine Major Kingdoms?"

The broker looked genuinely surprised and scrutinized Sylvie. "Good lord! You must be one of those Immortal Species that hibernates for thousands of years."

Loki and Sylvie exchanged a glance, sensing that something was amiss. The broker held his forehead and sighed, "Alright, it seems you guys really are..."

"Are you guys unaware? Asgard launched the greatest millennial war, emerging victorious. The Kree Empire is now merged into Asgard. The present cosmic triad consists of the Shi'ar Empire, the Skrull Empire, and the Asgard Empire..."

Sylvie deeply furrowed her brows, seeming incredulous. Seeing her expression, the mediator knew if he did not elucidate now, there would certainly be trouble. Hence, he asked, "What are your plans for visiting the Nine Major Kingdoms?"

Sylvie seemed a bit flustered, but Loki clearly walked up and said, "We are going on a family visit, we have a relative who married into the Warner God Tribe as well, you must know they like intermarriages with the Immortal Species."

"The place where my sister and I work is quite remote. We haven't been out in thousands of years, and we really didn't know that such a massive event occurred in the cosmos ...." Loki put on a clueless expression and pleaded, "You must tell us what's recently happened. If we go there without knowing anything and offend someone, it'll be trouble...."

The mediator sighed deeply, asking them to sit on the sofa. He said, "You Immortal Species really don't get it, often hibernating in one place for thousands of years. Who would dare try to teleport somewhere not knowing what has happened in the universe?"

"Forget it, seeing as you are one person handling a child, it's not easy. If you're looking for the Warner God Tribe, you can't teleport to the edge. The territory originally belonging to the Kree Empire has all been incorporated into Asgard. It's incredibly far to get to the Warner God Tribe from here ...."

"What on earth happened?" Sylvie pretended to be calm, but everyone could hear the urgency in her tone. The mediator shook his head and began to speak.

"Let me tell you the most important thing first. Thor is the ruler of Asgard now, you must've heard of her. She was the Grand Princess before, and now she is the Queen of Asgard."

About 2000 years ago, Tor defeated her mother, Odin, and became the new Queen of Asgard. Immediately after her ascension, she started the second Great Interstellar War of the millennium ..."

"This war was even more fierce than the previous one between the Kree Empire and the Skrull Empire. Both sides almost broke into the other's capital, but in the end, the Queen Thor definitively settled the matter with her strong power. She killed the Supremacy of the Kree Empire and destroyed their capital completely ... "

"Asgard didn't gain an advantage from the war, they have a small population, so they had no way to control the territory of the Kree Empire completely, and they weren't able to plunder many resources; it could be considered a mutual defeat."

Loki and Sylvie were both taken aback, visibly shocked. But Loki quickly regrouped and looked at the mediator, asking, "The other two empires didn't make any moves?"

"The Skrull Empire wanted to take advantage of the situation ... " The mediator furrowed his eyebrows, and said, "But who would dare to provoke Thor? With one strike of her lightning, she reduced the capital star of the Kree Empire to dust. She has absolutely lost it."

"But .... why would they fight in the first place?" Sylvie still seemed incredulous. She said, "In the last few hundred years of Odin's reign, wasn't she trying to put her weapons into storage and retire her military?"

The mediator sighed deeply and said, "Who can truly understand the affairs of the Royal Family?"

Looking at his reaction, it was clear to Loki that more was going on behind the scenes. However, at that moment the mediator stood up and said, "I have other clients. You two take the travel permits and directly teleport to the territory of the Warner God Tribe. They have trade access there."

"Once there, remember to never bluntly call the new Queen by her name, she has a terrible temper. If you don't want to be struck dead by lightning, then stay quiet...."

The mediator waved them off, then left. Loki and Sylvie exchanged glances seeing urgent and confused emotions in each other's eyes.

The two hastened to the teleport station. As the Shi'ar Empire was a commercial empire, their free teleport gate was the largest in the universe. Because they welcomed all Races to use their teleport gate, the daily throughput here was immense.

Loki and Sylvie queued for several hours. During the intervals, Sylvie kept muttering as if she was expressing her thoughts to Loki, and also as if she was comforting herself.

"Thor is not this kind of person, I know... I know she has a bit of a temper, she has been like this since she was little, but she is actually... My sister, she is quite gentle. How could she usurp the throne?"

"And she's not the kind of person who likes to cause unnecessary slaughter. Even if Odin is ruthless, she shouldn't..."

Sylvie clearly seemed flustered. It could be plainly seen that she actually didn't care about Odin. She just couldn't comprehend Thor's current situation, causing her extreme anxiety.

Without mentioning their bet, Loki already knew that like him, Sylvie cared most about Thor.

He couldn't help but recall, during the hundreds of years before the darkest day, he and Thor were inseparable.

During that time, they were young, didn't have to go to battle and didn't have any homework. They spent each day exploring nature.

Because Thor was older and more familiar with many places, and also was outgoing and likable, she always led Loki around different places for fun.

At that time, Asgardians didn't hold any prejudice against them both, and carefully raised these two little princes. But during those times, Loki was more introverted and not good at social interaction. Many times when troubles arose, Thor would help to settle them.

If one were to look at Loki's life from the beginning, perhaps the dividing line would not be the day that Odin decided on succession. Although, on that day, Loki felt disappointed and felt parental bias.

But what made Loki feel sadder was that from then onwards, Thor didn't have as much time to spend with him. She had to hone her martial skills, learn how to govern, build relationships with other young companions, and occasionally accompany the army on expeditions.

Loki knew that he was indeed being abandoned. But he was not abandoned by Odin, or admittedly, being abandoned by Odin didn't matter, the Father of All Gods was very busy in the first place, obviously not having time to accompany him.

Loki was abandoned by his brother who was inseparable from him, grew up together, and was his best friend.

In his memory, on the darkest of the days, the moment of ultimate darkness was when Odin, under the sunset of Asgard, led Thor across the long Fairy Palace Bridge.

In that scene, Loki stood alone at the head of the bridge, bidding them farewell as they left.</p
