Xia Sirong scrambled to her feet. She hurried out of the kitchen, her footsteps echoing down the hallway as she made her way to her room.

Once there, she grabbed her phone with trembling hands and called her son.

"Wenjin! You have to come pick me up. That b*tch Lihua found out my plans. I can't stay in the house anymore or she will really send me to jail. Come pick me up!" 

"You are useless! You can't do one thing right!" Xia Wenjin spat, his voice filled with venom on the other end of the line. He was so furious that he could not even bear to continue the conversation and simply hung up.

Xia Sirong was trembling badly.

Being called useless by her own son was a fatal blow. 

But she didn't have time to wallow in her grievances. She had to act fast.

She hurriedly gathered her most expensive belongings, stuffing them into a suitcase. Her hands shook as she packed whatever she could.
