Xia Liyan had heard the sirens blaring in the distance, growing louder as they approached. When she peeked through the curtains and saw the police standing outside, her heart nearly stopped.

Panic set in, her mind racing with fear and confusion.

Biting her nails anxiously, she wondered if Ding had Feng sent the police after her as revenge for leaking Xia Lihua's information.

It had been Ding Feng who stalked Xia Lihua and collected those pictures. Now, had he shifted the blame onto her?

The doorbell kept ringing. 

She thought they would go away if she did not open the door, but they were persistent. 

When it finally stopped ringing, she was relieved.

But her relief was short lived. Suddenly, she heard the sound of the door being forced open.

Xia Liyan yelped in fright, quickly grabbing a robe to cover herself and concoct a plausible excuse.
