Xia Lihua was scrolling through her phone with one hand and tracing the pattern on the wooden dining table with the other lazily.
She looked up as Xia Sirong entered the dining hall carrying a tray of food. "That didn't take long."
Xia Sirong did her best to keep her face neutral as she quietly set the food down. "Here you go," she said, her voice as steady as she could manage, though her hands trembled slightly as she served the dishes.
Xia Lihua's eyes narrowed slightly as she examined her aunt's face, searching for any sign of duplicity. She picked up her chopsticks, letting them hover over the bowl of rice for a moment.
Xia Sirong stood there and gulped as she watched Xia Lihua finally shove some rice in her mouth.
"What are you waiting here for? You can go," Xia Lihua said with food in her mouth. She could sense her aunt's anxiety even from a distance.
