"No, I will not get down on my knees," I responded, my voice carrying the stench of a belligerent challenge.

It was so funny; the way he thought that I would tremble and give in to his will was such a comical fact that I couldn't get over it. It made me want to laugh out loud.

I wasn't going to let anyone use me as a puppet, and the sooner he realized that the better off we were all going to be in the long run.
