Hope was doing great with crawling. There was a time I would have to help her get her legs under her before she could do it, but she’d taken to rolling around like nobody’s business. Going from laying on her back, to even sitting, to booting around on all fours, with only the occasional tumble, which she always took with good humor.

She was already getting her dad’s mostly chill outlook on life. Most of it was funny really. Especially from a position of mildly amused detachment.

No matter how hard I tried, and I had for quite a while, I couldn’t come up with anyone who he actually hated. We had enemies for sure, something I’d never really experienced until I’d married him, but we were in it together and his enemies were my enemies.
