"What were you doing in the room with him all alone?" Griselda asked for the umpteenth time, refusing to give up despite how many times Jacquelyn had replied that nothing unusual had happened. The older woman didn't believe her. Griselda had lived far too long not to notice when things were odd around her. It wasn't the evil energy she had felt earlier that was bothering her; it was the girl whom she had carried right from a newborn now blushing.

Jacquelyn pushed the closet door open, tapping her fingers on her lips with her brows knitted as if she was deep in thought. "Hm... I've changed more than two times today," she murmured, keeping her eyes focused on what was ahead, though she could feel Griselda's gaze on her. After a few seconds of playing the ignorant and innocent card, Jacquelyn finally raised her face.

"What, Grisie?" She let out a frustrated sigh. "I told you, nothing happened!"
