Herschel kept turning his neck, trying to catch a glimpse of Lord Ryver's face. If it wasn't for Kael calling the man by his name, Herschel wouldn't have believed that the masked man behind him was the same Lord Ryver Larkin, a prestigious man in the royal court whose father used to be the King's right-hand man.

Lord Ryver had always been tall, yes. But he had the delicate appearance of an elite man, with smooth hands and soft features. His pleasant smile and friendly stare were always there, and the way he dressed and styled his hair was impeccable. Like a real nobleman, he was exceptional. The man Kael had just introduced as Lord Ryver had no similarity to a nobleman.

"If you keep staring, I'll take it that you're in love," Kael chimed nonchalantly, waiting for Ballister to open the door to the underground before he entered.
