Ethan noticed Lia coming towards his direction and his eyes narrowed.

"Did you understand it?" he asked the knight who nodded his head with reverence. Ethan nodded back and turned to leave.

He did not want to see her. He had decided that he would not torture himself anymore. It had been hard to hear her rejection to see her eyes full of resentment every time. 

It would be better for both of them if they did not cross paths.

Lia noticed how he turned to leave and knew that she would not be able to catch up to him.

She paused when he had already mounted his horse and left feeling a sense of loss, a void that had always been there, but she was trying to ignore its presence.

Was she the only one who thought that this would not be possible? In the end, she would only be hurt by him!
