章節 55: CHAPTER 54: creator fragment

A few more days passed and Sirin couldn't bare it any longer. There was something out there, something that was even less supposed to be here than he was.

This time when he left the cave, he didn't go out to hunt as usual, but he went to actively search for that 'thing'.

It wasn't hard to do considering the glitching of the system as he came closer. But the odd energy it gave of repelled him. It wasn't holy, far from it. However, it seemed to shift the verry fabric of this reality. Which made him fear that whatever it was could glitch him out of existence.

Eventually he found himself in a dark forest. The grey bark of the trees made it look like everything here was made out of stone. Even the ground itself was colder and harder to the touch.

As he walked, he realised that there was no sound here.

Despite this he could sense the souls and minds of the creatures in the distance. So, he wasn't alone at all.

Soon he saw a smell red figure kneeling in front of one of the trees. It had its back turned to him as it cared strange glowing symbols in the ground with its black claws.

These weren't the symbols Sirin had seen in hell. In fact, he had never seen anything like it at all.

The system flickered with a warning as Sirin took another step in the direction of the creature.

<Warning, host is approaching a creator fragment.>

Sirin hesitated. Why would the system warn him about the verry thing that gave it to him?

In fact, the creature in front of him looked kind of like an imp. One of the more common and lesser demons he had seen in hell. It had two big leathery wings, a tail with a scorpion's stinger and black horns.

But as the 'imp' turned around and he got to look in its completely yellow, yet hollow eyes, he started to doubt the nature of this being.

The creature smiled, reviling the many sharp fangs that it had somehow managed to hide in its mouth.

"Hello, Alkonost Ijiraat Sirin! How fun to see you here!" It spoke in a voice that kind of sounded female, yet it was like it was never supposed to speak at all, so distorted were the sounds.

Sirin felt a shiver run down his spine as he heard the 'demon' say his name.

He slowly took a step backwards, but he soon found the creature standing face to face with him.

"Oh, no you're not going anywhere buddy." Like wrinkles moving over a puddle of water, so did the appearance of the creature change. It no longer resembled a little red imp, but instead a gigantic four-armed, blue fiend. Though it still retained the overall shape of its original form.

It snickered as it saw Sirin's terrified expression. "Don't worry hatchling. The other fragments will throw my soul at an interdimensional wall if I do anything more than spit in your mouth."

"What the hell are you?" Sirin managed to mutter under the gaze of this higher being.

"Is your brain as smooth as my tongue? You have the system, don't you? You should know what I am." The creature said in a mocking tone.

"Why are you here?"

"You're quite a curious little one, aren't you? That's quite a lot of nerve to question me! for all you know I am the verry being that brought your striped ass in existence."

Sirin could swear that he felt the killing intent radiating off this creator fragment. But then he saw how the thing was wagging its tail. Rather than wanting to kill him, this thing was having fun.

"Good guess, pale chicken. We all watch you. It's quite… amusing. The other fragments should de shivering in envy about how I got the chance to insult the host of the system."

He wasn't surprised by this. If a normal demon could already read minds to some extent, then why wouldn't a higher being be able to do it?

The creature let go of the invisible grasp it had on Sirin and backed away.

"Anyway, I should get going. Someone is supposed to bring the wheel of fate into motion, and I can't have all the fun to myself. Why don't you check up on Ogdrenoth? Like me he is one of the named fragments. You should be able to find him in the void hanging around the red god for some reason. He might even be willing to update your system. And if not, there is another higher being close by."

The creature turned around to leave but glanced over its shoulder for one last time. "By the way all of us higher beings know the answers to all the silly little questions that your smooth brain had been able to come up with. My guess is that especially the red god is willing to give you a few hints. He favoured you for a long time after all."

Then the creature shifted back into the form of a mere imp and suddenly disappeared as if it had never been there to begin with.

At once all the sounds returned and the colour returned to Sirin's surroundings.

He fell to his knees, gasping for air now that the massive pressure of the creature had lifted.
