This story seems like the best one I've seen in quite awhile. Reincarnation, systems, and detectives. What could possibly be added to make a story like this better? Flawless.
Starting with Chapter 350 or so, the quality of the translation gotten worse. It used to be great, but now is only so-so. Did Nyoi-Bo Studio moved their good translators off this novel because it's not doing too well in the power rankings? It's a shame, because I like mystery novels and Qidian doesn't have too many of them.

I downloaded this app when I saw the prologue of Crazy Detective in the app ad. It’s the best I have read on Webnovel until now. The MC Zhao Yu a gangster transmigrated mysteriously to find that he is now an investigator and we slowly see the transformation; how he is different from the old Zhao Yu and how gradually principles are instilled in him becoming an intriguing mix of what he was and what he should be. With a mysterious system guiding him through this transformation I think Zhao Yu will become one of the most interesting characters among all the other characters I read about.

So hard to find a good detective series that's not featuring a know it all **** or kid...Finally, an ***** detective who has grown people issues, thoughts or actions! The story is refreshing. The MC doesn't have all the answers, he wasn't so predictable or flawless. He tries to learn from his mistakes & reflects on his decisions. He solves things one step at a time while the readers follow along with him. The system doesn't give more than the story needs. I like how he has to figure out the system clues. Chapter Updates are frequent enough & the translation also flows well & is easy to read. It's surprising this isn't featured more or chapters aren't sealed by power stones it deserves to be monetized but I glad It's not yet, Another wise I would not have been able to binge read such a great & entertaining novel. Miao Ying & mc epic trolls & battles made me instantly laugh many times. The cases are both brilliant & real horrible as hell! Many twist & turns! Just when you think everything is solved or you know what will happen next, the plot turns on its head! Just when think you understand a character you find your self fooled! I have to try not to get emotionally invested in these developed, deep & likable characters after that one death case...Cause any moment a swerve may happen that hits right in the feels. Thanks for this story I am enjoying it! This has earned my power stones!Lord knows we all want more Dui/Kan days! I wish the author & translators many Dui/Kan days! I am writing this review solely because I don't want others to miss this gem. I know that this novel's starting is quite week. Readers may get annoyed with the MC's personality and cliche tropes, but trust me it gets really better from ch 50. All detective genre fans must read this book. The premise of the novel is interesting and the character development of MC really satisfies the readers.
Terrific novel. Needs a little push so that people can see it for the gem that it really is. Highly recommend giving it a shot for mystery/detective work genre lovers.

Thanks the author and translator . So far this the most underrated story I’ve ever read . The story is so good but I don’t know why people don’t like it . At the beginning it was bit jumbled up but it goes better and better as the time goes . I hope translator will finish translating the story . I Am so looking forward to it .

Overall, a novel with good ideas but poor character design. After being framed and sentenced to death for murder, the MC- a violent gang boss- traveled to a parallel world to become part of a police investigation team. He is randomly tied to a system, but when catching criminals, he relies on forced plot development (instead of using brains). I do not like the MC's personality (brash and rude like a gangster); in fact, the original police officer (whose body MC transmigrated into) seemed to have a much better personality compared to MC. I was looking forward to this since we don't have good Chinese detective webnovels (most are Japanese like "Shinrei Tantei Yakumo"), but I was disappointed (my rating was already +1 for having the game system, but character development turned out to be too poor).
