I gained five levels. My sanguine venom went up a level and so did my tail whip, hardened scales, and venomous mist breath skill. And there it is, my new skill, energy body. I vaguely remember that this skill is not supposed to exist.

{Research on it was given up after decades of failed attempts and when the projection skill series was discovered as the next evolution of the spirit skill series. You just invalidated five decades of research saying this skill does not and cannot exist.}

Guess those were lousy researchers.

{The more likely answer is that a human cannot learn the energy body skill as no human uses his entire body as a weapon. It does make sense because the projection skill is class specific and therefore monsters can't get it.}

So I'm exchange for a third evolution of their skill they lost part of the base skill?

{Unlikely. Humans were never particularly physical beings. When they gave up their evolution abilities in exchange for classes, they were probably already unable to learn that skill. However, with classes being formed, the projection series came into existence. Arrogant as humans are, they probably assumed the projection skill came first. Though all this is just conjecture on my part and may be just as wrong.}

Sounds complicated. I just want to try out my skill and get in some more carnage time.

{That might be hard. All trains are currently retreating to the nearest station and the stations are going on full lockdown mode. While this does serve our purpose, it will temporarily make it harder for us to do any lasting damage.}

So the mission is over?

{Far from it. Those fools forgot one thing, their tracks need protection and regular repair. The more damage we can do to the tracks while they turtle up, the longer we can delay them. And wrecking stuff is your forte, right?}

I prefer slaughter, but destruction is good too. What's Guy doing?

{Him? He's training more raid groups. By the time the trains start running again they'll have to look out for orc raiders on several floors. Hopefully we can create enough of a delay here so they can't build anymore tracks on higher floors due to a lack of supplies.}

Whatever, that's of no concern to me. I look for a set of tracks that going over a hill and begin to make my way there.

{Is there something special on that hill? There are tracks closer to you.}

There are but you said maximum destruction, right?

{That would be ideal, but how will going up a hill achieve that?}

You'll see.

Finally, I arrive on top of the hill and inspect the tracks leading downhill. Yes, this slope will allow me to gather a lot of speed.

{Speed?!!}

I roll my body back up into a wheel like when I attacked the train with Guy and the orcs. Tightening my body, I lean forward and begin to roll. My body spins as I gain speed and crush the wooden railroad ties below me.

The metal rails form a channel, guiding me forward. I keep accelerating, breaking railroad ties, making my way downhill.

Once I reach speeds that threaten to make me dizzy, I activate my shatter skill and force the destructive power to wrap around my body. I imagine a giant wheel forming around me and hear the sound of metal creaking and cracking. Combined with the intermittent bursts given off when I crush a wooden railroad tie beneath me, the noise becomes a strange sort of music to my ears.

I reach the end of the downward slope and continue along the tracks, leaving a railroad that probably needs extensive repair.

{Forget about repair, they might as we make a new one. The tracks touched by your shatter skill are beyond what you can repair without specialized equipment. In addition, the trail your weight leaves in the ground will stop them from building over it.}

I guess I am doing my job. I simply focus on keeping my shatter skill operating at maximum output and let myself roll.

Since I am now advancing on a straight path, the speed I picked up begins to slow. With ever rotation of my body, the air resistance and rolling resistance work hard to end my carnage. Ultimately, my speed teeters out and I stop on the tracks.

Looking back, I can't even see the hill I started on anymore. I give the tracks before me a tail whip for good measure and head off towards the next nearby hill.

I try to use my energy body skill to make use of both slopes a hill provides me with. However, after rolling downhill for only a couple of seconds, the energy body dissolves. I guess the skill works just like the rest of the energy series.

Continuing my destruction of the tracks, I soon run out of hills to use for speed. Thus, I simply slither my way along the tracks concentrating my shatter skill onto my underside to leave a serpentine trail of indented, crushed ground. The serpentine pattern leaves intermittent parts of the tracks untouched but it also ruins parts of the ground right next to the tracks so the adventurers can't just build a new set directly beside the old one.

Assuming they chose the most efficient routes the first time they laid these tracks, every bit of distance I can make them deviate from the most efficient route will waste their resources.
