章節 28: My Wife Looks Beautiful in Anything
There were about ten days left until the ninth of next month. Every day, Alla went to different hospitals to get medicine, and then saved up the sleep-inducing drugs. She put these drugs aside and saw the box placed on the table.
It reminded her that she hadn't returned the gown and necklace to Billie yet, so she quickly picked up her phone and scheduled a courier. Although she was going to confront Billie, she would definitely return the things that didn't belong to her.
The courier arrived quickly and took the items away. After the items were sent out, she felt much more at ease. When Billie saw the gown and necklace returned, his eyes lit up with excitement. Alla was indeed different from others. Anyone else would have used these luxurious items to get money, but she returned them!
It seemed that this time he had encountered a tough bone to chew, but it didn't matter. Once she got the project, he would conquer her thoroughly!
Alla rested at home for a while before receiving a call from Maggie. Her custom-made wedding dress was ready, and she wanted Alla to accompany her to the bridal shop to try it on. Alla quickly got up and went to the bridal shop Maggie mentioned.
Maggie's fiancé, Vincent, was also there. He greeted her when he saw her come in. Alla also politely smiled back, "Where's Maggie?"
Vincent gestured towards the fitting room, "She's trying on the wedding dress, you can sit for a while." Alla and Vincent had known each other for a long time and didn't stand on ceremony with him. She directly sat down in the sofa area.
Her health had been deteriorating since the last fever. Her heart was aching, her head was dizzy, and she was lacking blood and oxygen supply, leaving her feeling weak all over. Even standing was a challenge.
Now, after just a few minutes of waiting on the sofa, her head was drooping, and she was about to fall asleep. Fortunately, Maggie soon came out of the fitting room. Seeing Alla, she called out softly, bringing Alla back from her drowsiness.
Maggie didn't notice anything unusual and twirled around in front of Alla and Vincent with her large wedding dress. "How does it look?"
"Beautiful." Alla mustered her spirits and smiled sweetly.
Vincent also quickly said, "My wife looks beautiful in anything."
Maggie laughed and patted his shoulder, saying that he was just sweet-talking. Vincent, however, indulgently ruffled her hair. Seeing Maggie and Vincent's relationship still stable and harmonious after eight years, Alla felt relieved.
Vincent was a self-made man who had struggled to get to where he was. He was gentle and handsome, with an honest character. Maggie said he had been through hardship and knew how difficult it was to have a good life, so he would cherish his family even more.
She felt at ease with such a reliable man and didn't need to worry about being betrayed in her life. Maggie was very comfortable entrusting herself to Vincent, and Alla wouldn't interfere too much. As long as Maggie was happy, that was all that mattered.
The custom-made wedding dress Maggie ordered was quite expensive, and the bridal shop gave Maggie a bridesmaid dress. She quickly picked a champagne-colored dress for Alla and asked her to try it on. Alla couldn't refuse the offer and went to try it on.
Her body had lost a lot of weight, and the dress was a bit big on her. Maggie touched her waist, which was all bone and no flesh. She looked at Alla's pale face, her heart aching, "Alla, how did you lose so much weight?"
