章節 68: Choosing a Good Day to Register our marriage

Ethan looked at Amelia and furrowed his brows slightly. "Why are you asking me this?"

Amelia pondered while surveying the surroundings, and after a moment, she replied, "I think this place is quite average. Although it's not small in size, it seems insignificant to you. Why did you choose this place? Wasn't it meant as a gift for someone else?"

Ethan nodded slightly and smiled, glancing around. "You could say that. Now it can be transferred under your name, and you can also customize the interior design according to your preferences."

"Why did you choose to buy here? Was it for someone else? Is there another woman involved?" Amelia still seemed stuck on this question, wanting an answer. After all, she would soon be the owner of this place, and she felt it necessary to know.

Ethan paused for a moment and let out a sigh. "...That's all in the past. Initially, I bought it with the intention of living here myself, to have a change in environment and style."

Amelia noticed his somber tone and decided not to press further. "What style do you like? I can look up some references."

Amelia looked at Ethan, thinking about the villa they currently lived in. The decor there was quite good, and Ethan had a refined taste.

"Well, I think you should handle it. I'm busy with work now and don't have time," Amelia suggested.

Ethan was momentarily startled but then nodded repeatedly. "You're amazing. Not only did you secure a property for yourself, but you want me to handle the interior design as well. But honestly, there shouldn't be much need for major renovations here. Just some touch-ups on the upper floor, and it can be done in three days."

"What? I thought we could move in today," Amelia blurted out, sounding like a child. Deep down, she knew it was unlikely, but she couldn't help but hope.

Ethan listened and sighed. "Though it would be great if we could move in sooner, we should also ensure the quality of the renovations."

"Alright, let's have you handle it then. I think I should head to the office now," Amelia decided, realizing the importance of her work responsibilities.

The two of them descended together and got into the car. Amelia had a joyful expression on her face.

"Are you happy? We'll transfer the house under your name as soon as you finish work."

Having her own house happened so quickly.

"Yes, I... I don't know what to say. Maybe when I have money in the future, I can slowly repay you," Amelia looked at Ethan.

Although they were husband and wife, everything belonged to Ethan. She wasn't a greedy person. Having this kind of life, she truly felt grateful towards the man before her.

Looking at Amelia, Ethan smiled, and his deep eyes showed understanding. He shook his head.

"Why? Do you think I won't be able to repay you?" Amelia kept looking at him and asked after he shook his head, taking a moment to think.

Ethan let out a sigh. "I won't ask you to repay me. We are husband and wife. It feels strange to hear you say those things. You are Mrs. Frost, remember that."

Mrs. Frost. This title signified status in the business world and implied being cherished at home.

However, this title also brought pressure for Amelia. She had to excel in order to deserve them.

"Well then, I won't hold back. To thank Mr. Frost, I will work even harder to contribute to Grand Group," Amelia declared, looking at him.

Ethan couldn't help but laugh, and they continued to chat casually until they arrived at the company.

The hospital.

Bella, Andrew, Michael, Charles, and Delilah were all there.

"You can be discharged now, Bel. We can go home this afternoon."

Delilah sat on the bed, looking at Bella. Her complexion seemed better now, not as pale as before.

Charles glanced at Andrew and said, "Since you're here, you can ask her yourself."

Bella cast a disdainful smile at Andrew. "Who asked you to come? I don't want to see you right now."

"Bel, don't be so rude" Charles reprimanded in a low voice, giving Bella a stern look. Delilah felt both angry and helpless, sighing beside her.

Andrew glanced at the IV drip, which was almost finished. Bella's complexion seemed fine.

"So, here's the thing. I called Charles and told him that once you're discharged, you'll come and stay at my place. We'll choose a good day to register our marriage. Don't worry, the wedding ceremony will be grand, and no guests will be left out. How about it?" Andrew explained, looking at Bella.

Anger burned in her eyes as she stared at him but remained silent for a while before lowering her head.

Observing her expression, Andrew turned to Charles. Charles quickly interjected, "Alright, since Bel has no objections, let's choose a good day. Given the current circumstances, Bel, try to be happy. After being discharged, it wouldn't be appropriate for you to move into the Steele family without being married. So, let's wait until after the wedding to move there."

Delilah wanted to object, but it was too late. They had already had a sexual relationship. and couldn't be uncooked. Besides, causing more commotion wouldn't help matters.

"That sounds good then. I'll go back and make preparations. Miss Harper needs some rest after being discharged, and then we'll get ready for the registration and wedding ceremony," Andrew said, smiling at Charles. He turned and left the room. Michael took a step forward, looking at Bella with concern. As a friend and soon-to-be brother-in-law, he said, "Take good rest. I'll leave now."

The room was now only occupied by their family. Bella raised her head and looked at Charles. "Dad, did he agree to your conditions? Why do you seem like you're working together?"

Recalling how Charles had taken Andrew's side and satisfied his demands, Bella felt both displeased and somewhat surprised. It seemed too easy for Andrew to get what he wanted.

Charles let out a sigh and wore an expression of helplessness. "Bel, you need to understand that I have my reasons for doing this. Firstly, it's well-known that you will marry Andrew now. Secondly, our cooperation with Grand Group has come to an end. From now on, Steele Group will become our family. So, Dad has taken long-term considerations into account."

Cooperation ended, becoming family with Steele Group.

What did all this mean?

"Dad, I don't understand. What do you mean by the cooperation ending? Did Grand Group back out? Why?" Bella asked, her confusion evident.

Charles's expression turned grim, and he looked at Bella, shaking his head. "No, it wasn't them. I requested to terminate the partnership. We've already paid a penalty fee of eight million."

"What? What were you thinking? You ended up paying so much for nothing." Delilah stood up, looking at Charles, feeling upset and angry, unable to comprehend his actions.

Bella, too, felt very surprised upon hearing this.

"Dad, why would you do such a thing?"

Charles stood there stunned, his eyes darting back and forth. He let out a deep sigh and looked at Bella. "I did all this for you."

"What? For me?" Bella was still astonished. Charles had willingly paid eight million, on top of the previous losses. Charles had always cherished money.
