The next day...
Angelica woke up early, helping Renee prepare breakfast by making a fruit salad, baking tortillas to be filled with vegetable toppings and sausages, then preparing juice, baking croissants, and brewing coffee in a small pot.
"So, is this what Charlie likes?" Angelica asked.
"Yes, he likes coffee, but he knows he can't have it on an empty stomach, so he'll eat some bread or something," Renee replied as she placed two servings of tortillas on the dining table. "He doesn't want to eat all of this, but I have to have it ready," she continued.
"Hmm, what if he doesn't eat it?"
"Hehe, I'll eat it then." Renee grinned, then went back to the pantry to get the fruit salad.
Angelica quickly placed the coffee pot on the dining table, then set a small cup right next to the delicious-looking brownish-yellow croissant. Suddenly, she imagined Charlie enjoying the meal, which meant she would see him again after last night's conversation about their relationship went nowhere.
The girl felt very awkward and wrong for demanding that a man she had just met declare his love for her just because they had been intimate, especially when he had been so kind. Being kind didn't necessarily mean love.
"I should understand... He's a grown man, he has desires... Not everything has to be about love... and most importantly, he didn't hurt me," she thought with regret.
"Angel..."
"Uh..." Angelica immediately snapped out of her reverie upon hearing the baritone voice calling her from the door. She turned and found Charlie entering the dining room, looking very fresh and handsome in blue pants and a white shirt, neatly combed hair, and the scent of his perfume adding to his freshness, making her imagine touching him all over, like three days ago.
Charlie smiled faintly, looking at Angelica, who was staring at him in amazement.
"Hey... Let's have breakfast," he said.
"Uh..." Angelica immediately looked back at the dining table. "I... I'll have breakfast with Renee." She glanced at Renee, who was placing a jug of water on the table.
Renee just stayed silent, glancing at Charlie and Angelica alternately.
"You'll only have breakfast with me..." Charlie immediately pulled out a chair for Angelica. "Sit... We also need to talk..." He glanced at Angelica without hesitation.
Renee quickly left, realizing she didn't need to interfere.
Angelica promptly sat down, and then looked at Charlie, who was sitting across from her. Now she didn't know what to say, and eating felt awkward too. Last night's events were truly a slap in the face for her.
"How's your mother?" Charlie asked while pouring coffee into a small cup, and then moving it in front of Angelica.
"She's fine," Angelica replied shortly, not daring to meet Charlie's eyes. She immediately took a sip of the coffee, but absentmindedly spat it out and placed the cup back on the table. "Ow, hot!" She now covered her mouth, looking at the table that was now messy.
"You need to be careful, baby..." Charlie immediately furrowed his brow.
"Uh, sorry..."
"It's still too hot, I didn't pour it for you to drink right away, but later," Charlie said while pouring water into a new glass and handing it to Angelica. "Drink so your tongue doesn't get burnt again," he continued, looking at Angelica with concern.
Renee came again to clean the table, everything was silent until the table was clean again and she returned to the kitchen.
Angelica drank immediately, occasionally glancing at Charlie, who was once again calling her by a special term of endearment, making her wonder if he wasn't angry about last night.
"Show me your tongue," Charlie requested after Angelica placed the glass back on the table.
"Uh, why?" Angelica asked.
"Just do it, I just want to make sure your tongue isn't burned..."
"Um..." Angelica swallowed her saliva, feeling strange about having to show her tongue at a moment like this, and even stranger when Charlie looked at her so seriously, leaning towards her.
"Come on..."
"Um, okay..."
With shyness and hesitation, Angelica slowly stuck out her tongue.
Charlie smiled, finding Angelica even cuter; her lips, her tongue, making it irresistible not to taste it as the special breakfast.
cup!
Angelica immediately froze when Charlie suddenly kissed her while cupping her right jaw. His fragrant scent, his handsome face, and his soft lips seemed to make her unable to move to reject, other than giving a slight response.
Charlie stopped the kiss and looked at Angelica, who was frozen as if she didn't dare to refuse.
"Your tongue is fine, still as soft as usual," he whispered.
Angelica returned to her senses and quickly moved her face away from Charlie. "You shouldn't kiss me here, Renee might see!" she said in annoyance, glancing at Renee still in the kitchen, cleaning up cooking utensils.
"If I can't kiss you here, then where can we do it?" Charlie asked, now sitting properly in his chair.
Angelica could only stay silent, not knowing how to answer. But looking at Charlie's lips, made her want to feel that kiss again, even more than just a kiss.
"Don't you want to anymore?"
"I don't know..."
"I know you're still disappointed in me... I'm also aware that I was wrong," Charlie said thoughtfully, then returned his focus to the food by picking up a tortilla. "We should have breakfast first... after this, I'll show you something," he continued.
"But Kate will come," Angelica replied with concern.
"Just tell her to come later in the afternoon... Besides, I'm sure she'll be happy because she needs rest. Maybe she's still asleep now."
"But that means we won't have much time to have fun..."
"Of course you will..." Charlie smiled while eating leisurely. "She can stay overnight, then she can hang out with you tomorrow... Or maybe with me too... We can invite Roger as well... That would be a lot of fun."
Angelica immediately fell silent, imagining hanging out with Kate, but with Roger and Charlie, it would surely look like a double date because Charlie was so dominant, and Roger would be focused on Kate.
"Eat your meal," Charlie said.
Immediately, Angelica focused back on the food and took the croissant and ate it slowly because of its large size, only to find pineapple jam inside.
"Oh, Baby..." Charlie saw a bit of jam at the corner of Angelica's lips, then reached out to wipe it with his thumb.
"Uh, sorry..." Angelica smiled shyly.
"It's okay, you're cute." Charlie licked his thumb, which had a bit of jam.
Angelica fell silent, not expecting Charlie to lick off the jam. 'He's like a charismatic playboy who knows how to draw a woman in,' she thought.
After finishing breakfast, Charlie waited for Angelica to change. He was in the yard, leaning on his shiny red sports car, wearing sunglasses, making him look very cool.
In just 5 minutes, he saw Angelica again, looking so cute in a short white dress, a small gray bag, and light bluish-white heels, letting her hair flow freely.
"Um..." Angelica approached Charlie, who was staring at her, leaving her confused about whether the man was enchanted by her beauty or if their appearances didn't quite match. "Is something wrong?" she asked.
"Oh, no..." Charlie shook his head, quickly taking off his glasses. "You're very sweet..." He moved closer to the girl and kissed her lips.
Angelica remained silent, once again unable to refuse the kiss. However, Charlie promptly opened the door for her so she could get in and fasten her seatbelt.
Charlie sat beside Angelica, putting his glasses back on, then maneuvered his car out of the Mansion's area.
"Where are we going?" Angelica asked.
"To my family's mansion," Charlie replied, turning on the MP3 and playing a song by the Arctic Monkeys titled 'I Wanna Be Yours'.
Angelica stared in surprise at Charlie, not expecting to be taken to his family's Mansion, which meant she would meet his father and brother. For some reason, she suddenly felt nervous, as if she couldn't face them, and she didn't know how Charlie would introduce her.
"I wanna be yours..."
The song echoed, truly piquing her curiosity, as its lyrics seemed to reflect what Charlie always wanted.
'Could he possibly be playing this song to express his feelings?' she wondered silently.
"By the way... We'll be there until noon, I'll introduce you to my dogs and my favorite lion," Charlie said again.
"No, I don't want to..." Angelica immediately shook her head, turned her face away, and suddenly felt disappointed. 'Apparently, there's nothing special...' she thought to herself.
"In that case, I'll show you my room... A room I've never shown to any girl before," Charlie said again.
Instantly, Angelica turned to Charlie once more. "Why?"
"Because I want to be yours, and you're special." Charlie smiled, then reached for Angelica's hand, holding it while his other hand gripped the steering wheel.
Angelica froze again, not understanding the meaning of being special, let alone being the first to enter Charlie's room.
'That means the girl who left him wasn't all that special if he didn't take her to his room. But why doesn't he want to pursue a relationship with any girl after breaking up with her? Or maybe he has another special place for that girl?' she wondered in her heart, glancing at Charlie who was focused on driving. 'But... the room, what will he do there? Why go to the room? Is he going to...' Angelica immediately turned her face away, imagining what it would be like if Charlie invited her to be intimate there. She felt embarrassed at the thought of accidentally sighing loudly or even screaming, especially since his family hadn't met her yet.
