Davina snickered.
"Hello, Ms Forbes?" She came towards her, "Who are these beautiful girls?"
She asked. Caroline shook her head.
"Girls, why don't you go inside and tell Klaus and Kol that we are ready for dinner!"
They nodded, and ran ahead.
"Do these kids have parents?" the woman asked sharply.
"Yes…." Caroline told her, "These are my nieces!"
"Wha…." Davina started to say, and Caroline slammed her elbow in Davina's chest. She took a step back, and rubbed her sides.
"Okay…" the woman said, "Can I see their parents?"
Caroline moved towards her,
"You saw a girl with her nieces, someone you had never seen again. But when you see me again, you won't remember who I am. Leave. Now!"
Caroline compelled her. She moved her group along with her.
"She was getting suspicious!" She told Davina, "Like last year....."
Klaus, and Kol came outside.
"Ready for dinner, Ladies?" Klaus asked.
The girls came outside, Caroline's eyebrows were raised,
"Jackets?" Josie asked,
Caroline nodded. Tapping her nose, that was code for when they got something right.
They all went back inside, and came back with jackets.
"They are more scared of you, than I have ever seen anyone scared of Klaus," Davina laughed.
After a few hours, Caroline and Klaus went back to the Forbes House, and Kol and Davina stayed at a hotel just outside Mystic Falls, as Caroline's guests.
Caroline put the girls to bed, and Klaus appeared on the other side of the room.
"Caroline, love..." he whispered. "I have to show you something."
"Okay…." She whispered back. "One minute."
She took out a baby monitor from the drawer, which was very old. She never left the house when the kids were sleeping. She put the other monitor in her pocket, and followed Klaus outside.
"What happened?" She whispered.
"No need to whisper, love!" Klaus pointed, they were out of the house.
"What am I seeing?" Caroline asked.
"Me?"
Caroline laughed. She shook her head.
"I cannot believe Hope is coming to the school!" Caroline said, "They are growing up so fast…"
Her eyes were teary. She tried to turn away. Klaus pulled her towards himself.
"What happened, Love...?"
"Nothing…"
"Really, Care.....We are going to get married, and you are going to keep secrets...…" He was trying his best to stifle the laughs. "You remember what the book said?"
Caroline giggled. "I knew that book would come back and haunt me….I should never let you see my things..."
"Yes, and you should also tell me what the problem is, considering I have been alive for the better of a millennium," Klaus told her, "I probably have the answer."
"I guess." She sat down on the stairs. Klaus joined her.
"I am just thinking about...…"
She told Klaus how she was worried that some time will come that her life will surpass her daughters. And it pained her. She knew that she told Davina she had thought about it. But she hadn't. And now she thought about it, but she couldn't stop thinking about it.
"I cannot believe it….." She was crying. "I thought about everything…..I never not think of everything in the future."
Her head was on his shoulder, she was sobbing uncontrollably.
"I suppose I never thought about it." He said slowly. "Not at all, actually."
The door opened,
"I can't sleep….." Hope Mikaelson staggered out. "Can you read to me?"
They stood up,
"Okay, love!" Klaus told her,
"Oh…...Caroline can you read it to me?" Hope said.
Caroline smiled,
"I'll take her!" She told Klaus, he nodded.
"Are Lizzie and Josie asleep?" She asked.
"Yes...." She held Caroline's hand.
They climbed upstairs, and Caroline picked up Hope, and put her to bed.
"And, soon you'll be too big to have that!" She told her. "Now, what story?"
Hope cuddled into her bed. Caroline read the story for twenty minutes and turned the lights off.
"Caroline!" She ran downstairs, as he shouted. "Caroline!!!"
"What happened?" She asked. Panicked.
"They are gone!" He yelled.
"Who…?"
"Elizabeth and Josette!" Klaus never said Lizzie and Josie if it was something serious.
"What?" She shouted. Her legs felt weak, she almost fell to the ground.
"I don't know…." Klaus told her, "I opened the room, the baby monitor was buzzing , and I saw their empty beds…."
"No..No, no...NO...….NO!" Caroline shouted. "What the hell is happening?"
"Relax, love!" Klaus pulled her up. "I'll wake up Hope, and she'll do a locator spell."
"Okay, okay…" Caroline sat back down on the stairs, "That's a good idea!"
She breathed heavily.
"Hope!" She heard Klaus's booming voice from behind the door. "Come on, Princess! Your friends need you!"
Hope was standing near the living room table, in her pajamas and she was casting a spell.
"Phesmatos!" Her eyes were closed.
A map was laid out in front of her. The light moved around on the map. It stopped in on area, and started to beam,
"There they are!" Hope sat down on the couch.
"What the bloody hell?" Klaus looked at the map.
"Language, Klaus...Kids..." Caroline said absent mindedly. She was a creature of habit.
"What are they doing here?" Caroline looked at the map. "New Orleans?"
"That's eight hours away?!" Hope yelped, "They can't just disappear into New Orleans in half an hour!?"
"Not if magic is involved!?" Klaus pointed out.
