The bigger the size, the more potential it wields to produce higher-level beings.
Beings capable of destroying mountains, reshaping landscapes, and summoning various weather storms on demand.
These beings are coined "Cultivators". Beings who trained their whole existence using the world's resources to achieve extraordinary powers.
As such, the world is cruel. Why?
Greed.
Greed for power, greed for control, Greed for everything….
It is a cruel dog-eat-dog world, where the strong survive while the weak get trampled. In most cases, brawn over brains, the winner is the Hero, the loser is the Devil.
"Is what I would start a cultivation novel with."
In a dimly lit run-down room, a silhouette of a young boy could be seen sitting down on the bare wooden floor.
The inside of said house, if it could even be called one, is very broken. Each step causes the floor to creak creepily. Its windows had evolved into pure holes while his roof were scattered with patches.
The boy is called Long Ren. He is currently 12 years old, a really skinny 12 years old boy.
He lives in a run-down house as he could not afford anything better. Even basic necessities are almost impossibleto get daily.
Why? Because…
"LIFE'S UNFAIR!" The boy shouted angrily towards the roof, a few holes lie there, giving him a clear view of the dark blue sky
Staring at the said night sky, Long Ren fell deep in his thought. He just recently discovered that he's a transmigrated person.
Just thirty minutes ago, right after Long Ren reached the age of 12, His body convulsed while his mind gets invaded by foreign memories. No, it's more so as if he got his memories back, while the memories in place were just information.
Only just now did he recover his composure and leaned against the wall. Though his body stopped convulsing, his mind still felt like a wreck.
The first thing he realized is that he is currently living in a cultivation world, no doubt, hence the inner monologue he had earlier.
Long Ren definitely felt in control, at least the Earth side of him did. But, those memories cluttered his mind, making him unsure who was making the decisions.
"But…why does this guy only have 2 years' worth of memory?!" Long Ren screamed inside.
His current body's memories only start from the age of 10, right after he arrived in this small village.
All He could recall is finding himself wearing a commoner's clothes inside this house with nothing but a small box accompanying him.
No money, No notes, No cultivation grandpa, No nothing….
Then, after two years, the healthy and good-looking young boy turned into this…skinny dirty human
Though he is skinny, His body is unnaturally strong, allowing him to work labour jobs for adults. But even then, as he is just a kid who could easily be cheated without consequences, he received barely any payment.
Hence the current situation.
No one to depend on, No one to care for him, No light in his dark, dark lonely world.
Though….there is one thing that keeps both past Long Ren and current Long Ren going with anticipation.
Cultivation Aptitude test.
Every 10 years, his village is visited by an envoy/proctor of a sect to test anyone below the age of 15 for their cultivation talent, aptitude, and compatibility.
Then, if said lucky person has any sort of talent, they will shoot up the hierarchy ranks by a lot.
The current boss of Long Ren who cheated him off of his payment is just a failed cultivator, yet he is able to control this village easily.
Such is the way of this cruel world, strength above all!
Tomorrow.
Tomorrow is the day when a proctor of a sect will come and test his aptitude.
One shot, one chance. Either this is his dragon's gate or the final nail in the coffin.
Long Ren's eyes are now filled with anticipation for what's to come tomorrow. He got up slowly and slept on the wooden plank he called bed. Trying to get as much rest as he possibly could in this unfamiliar world.
This is a transmigrated person's journey towards the not-so-beautiful world of cultivation.
