"Here it is." Jiro broke the tension as she pointed to the burger place.
"Yes!" Kirishima and Kaminari swine dived into the building.
"Morons." Bakugo muttered, catching the door with his hand. He glanced back to you, Mina and Jiro. "Ugh-!" He growled after a second, "-go!"
"I-Is he holding the door open for us?" Jiro whispered into Mina's ear.
"Uh...thanks Bakugo-" Mina said stepping through the door with you and Jiro following him. You didn't so much as glance his way as you passed him, you didn't need or want him to hold open the door. "-being all gentlemen like."
"What did you say!?" Bakugo snapped around being the last to enter.
"It was a compliment!" Mina swore, waving him off.
You were already at the register looking up to the menu ordering food.
"Hungry I see!" Kirishima grinned, stepping beside you.
"Yeah." You nodded, after paying for your order.
"How about we go find us some seats while everyone else orders?" Kirishima questioned.
"Sure." You shrugged, not feeling like you had the energy to walk ten more steps.
"This place is nice!" Kirishima said sliding into the large round booth next to you.
"It is." You nodded glancing around as you rubbed your sore neck, the food before you wafted to your nose but you felt so exhausted your stomach turned at the thought of food.
"Are you excited for the camp?" Kirishima tried to keep the conversation naturally flowing, not realizing how tired you appeared to be.
"If I knew what it was then maybe."
"H-How do you not know!?" Kirishima gushed, you shrugged. "Right..." Kirishima realized, you showed up half way through the semester. "...you probably don't even know why we are all excited to go!"
"Not a clue." You yawned, leaning on your arm. "So, tell me why."
"Tell you what?" The rest of your group joined inside the large circle booth.
"(y/n) doesn't know what camp we are going to!"
"Oh-!" Kaminari laughed, holding his hands up. "-you are going to love it, a spaz like you? It's gonna be like freaking Christmas!"
"I don't know..." You muttered, "...never had a Christmas."
"WHAT!?"
"Does the concept of held prisoner mean nothing?" You wondered, resting your head on your hand.
"Ok-!" Mina quickly said, "-it's this awesome training camp where-" Mina went on to explain something you already had grasped. It wasn't hard to understand, it was a training camp, how hard could it be?
"What's up with your arm?" Kaminari pointed, you followed his gaze seeing the marks painting your skin.
"Their bruises?" You answered.
"Where did you get them from?" Jiro wondered causing you to laugh.
"You think I went thirty something rounds with UA students and walked away without a scratch!?" You leaned back as you laughed. "I'm not that good, you guys give me to much credit."
"We really don't!" Kirishima expressed, "If anything we don't give you enough support as your friends!"
"Yeah!" Mina and Asui agreed.
"Speaking of being friends..." You slowly tasted the words on your tongue, "...there has been something I wanted to talk to you about."
"Oh no!" Kaminari held his face, "Here it comes!"
"Huh?" You furrowed your brows at his dramatic behavior.
"Your breaking up with us aren't you!?" Kaminari accused.
"I don't..." You glanced around, "...I don't understand what's going on?"
"Your transferring classes aren't you!?" Mina joined in on the aridic behavior.
"Wha-?" You blinked, shaking your head, "-who said I was transferring classes?"
"Your going to Class B!"
"Since when?" You questioned,
"Wait-" Jiro leaned forward. "-you're not transferring?"
"To the class where the teacher hates me?" You asked, "No!" You laughed, "Where did this all come from?"
"Ah..." Your classmates looked to one another, wondering if they jumped the gun a bit here.
"What did you want to talk to us about then?" Asui inquired.
"Um...well..." You gazed at the table, "...you remember that guy you met at my house?"
"The creepy guy!?" Kaminari guessed.
"Y-Yeah." You sighed,
"What about him?" Midoriya asked.
"Toshinori has recently asked me for my permission for him to...adopt me."
"WHAT!?" Your class jumped.
"That's great!"
"Congratulations!"
"I'm so happy for you!"
As your classmates turned friends showered you with positivity, Bakugo and Midoriya glanced to one another knowing the real person who was adopting you...it was All Might, their hero. Pings of jealousy sparked inside Midoriya has so many other questions filled him that he couldn't ask you in front of people.
----
After what felt like a twelve-hour shift, you said your goodbyes to your classmates, finally being able to make your way home and sleep. The air grew chilled as your shuffled through the streets. It felt like your feet were magnets glued to the ground as you struggled to hold your burning eyes open.
"Ok-" You breathed, falling onto a nearby hill letting the grass chill you even further. "-just need a break." You muttered, looking up at the sky as you laid on your back. The stars twinkled freely without a care in the world. Why were you so worn out? Why did your eyelids feel like they were made out of paper weights?
"You alive?" A deep voice opened your eyes, unaware of how much time had passed. You turned your head, seeing Bakugo standing before you, his hands resting inside his pockets.
"Sadly." You answered, "Now move along." You closed your eyes feeling a few water droplets hit your skin.
"Hey-" Bakugo moved towards you, lowering himself beside you. "-why did you stay out so late if you're this tired!?" He lectured seeing how you struggled to even move.
"Mhm." You hummed. Bakugo looked around, thinking back to the first time he encountered you outside of the school.
"We are friends." Bakugo announced out of the blue, the pure shock pilled your eyes open to stare at him sitting beside you.
"We are not." You replied. "You made sure of that."
Bakugo breathed, leaning backwards to lay beside you.
"I didn't mean anything I said." He began, "I-"
"You were angry, I understand the words coming out of your mouth but they are just words, your actions spoke louder and a lot clearer."
"I'm sorry I made you feel like they did."
"They?"
"Those two..." Bakugo looked over to you.
"...you didn't..."
Bakugo noticed how, when it was just the two of you...you didn't lie very well.
"They are morons to have left you." Bakugo went on, "Your...not...so bad I guess."
"Your horrible at this." You commented making Bakugo smile as he gazed up at the sky as it slowly began to rain.
"So are you." He replied, "That's why we are friends."
"Not friends."
"Are friends." He lightly pushed you, "Shut up and rest already."
You turned to Bakugo, rain dripped from the sky as the two of you laid in the soft grass. He noticed your gaze, turning his head you two were inches from each other. You felt something inside your chest as your gleamed into those burning red eyes of his...
You felt connected to him in a way, it felt odd to you and words couldn't explain it. Bakugo reached over, running his fingers over your face.
"You're ok." He said, noticing how hard you were trying to stay awake. "I'm here, your safe." Bakugo's eyes were soft, watching the way your eyes fluttered closed.
The rain began to free fall, Bakugo lifted himself onto his arm, placing them on both sides of your head, hovering over your body trying to shield you from the pouring water. Bakugo took this moment to stare at you, he watched the way the water droplets traveled down your face, how your lips parted as you breathed.
Bakugo felt a desire forming inside him, instincts told him to lean forward and press his lips against you. He never felt the urge to kiss anyone before, people especially girls were a distraction he couldn't afford if he was going to become the number one hero.
Bakugo blushed, he could only imagine what a bystander would think stumbling onto a scene like this. Two kids laying in the rain, one asleep while the other is positioned like this...plus All Might must be wondering where you were, he knew he had to get you home soon. You being out in this weather couldn't be good for your questionable health.
The ash blond lifted you in his arm, cradled you against his chest as he quickly made his way to your house. The closer he got, the slower his steps become. He was going to have to hand you over to All Might, who would thank him and close the door in his face. Bakugo felt urges he has never felt before...
Getting to your house, all the lights were off.
"Where are your keys?" Bakugo wondered, looking down at your sleeping face. He awkwardly searched through your bag while still trying to keep his grip around you. "How do I end up getting roped into shit like this!?" He growled feeling annoyed by the alluding keys.
After three minutes of awkwardly standing on the porch, he found and opened the door.
"Hey." Bakugo said looking down at you, your head snuggled against his chest. He felt so warm... "We are here, you have to change-"
"Your warm." You murmured.
"Yeah, I know-" Bakugo rolled his eyes, "-its due to my quirk. You have to get up and change."
"Mhm." You breathed, nuzzling your face into his neck causing Bakugo to madly blush ten shades of red as he looked around making sure no one was watching.
"He-Hey!" Bakugo stuttered, "S-Stop doing that!"
But you were already dozing back off, your body wrapped inside his warmth.
"Ugh!" Bakugo groaned, looking around the house.
His fingers gripped the large blanket draped over the couch, not wanting to ruin any furniture of All Might's, Bakugo returned to the hard wood floor by the front door and took a seat against the wall. He wrapped the two of you up inside the blanket trying to keep you warm, despite the small puddles of water forming beneath you.
He flinched when he heard you whimper of protest, you didn't want to be moved as he lowered himself to the ground. Bakugo was about to open his mouth, telling you to shut up or something but his body was frozen when he felt you snuggle closer to him, his eyes wide as the moon outside feeling you against him stealing all his warmth. Bakugo turned cherry red as your breathing slowed, falling into a pool of sleep inside Bakugo's warmth.
It was the best sleep you have ever had.
After an hour, thanks to Bakugo's quirk causing him be warmer than the average person, the two of you were dry. With a heavy sigh he lifted you in his arms, carrying you up the stairs and placed you in your bedroom after removing your shoes he covered you up.
Bakugo glanced at the foreign place beside you in your bed...that could be his spot—Bakugo quickly shook his thoughts clear. This was ridiculous, he didn't have time for stupid distractions like emotions. He was working to become the number one hero, relationships and feelings just got in the way!
