I aimlessly changed the channels on the TV, pausing when it was a news program, then pressing next when it was about the senate hearing or the weather. I haven't watched TV in the longest, I realized, none of these shows looked familiar.
I was sitting on the floor because Michelle pushed me off the bed so she can get ready to go. I leaned backward to look at her. "What time do you need to be at work?"
"4pm," she replied. Her make up bag was open on the bed beside her pillow while all sorts of make up was strewn across the bed, grouped together according to what they were - lipsticks, eye shadow palettes, brushes of all sizes, other things I don't recognize.
"Why so late?" I asked. I knew what a 4pm call time meant, this shoot is expected to go on till past midnight.
"Omnipotent is shooting a night video," she shrugged. She was comparing tubes of foundation and trying to decide if she should just bring all of them. "Are you sure you and Billy will be okay by yourselves? I can still call my mother."
"I'll be the one to call her if I can't handle him and I can also call my own mom," I assured her, getting up and making my way towards her. I looked at the clock. It was only 1:30 PM, so she still had a little time before she needed to go. I hugged her from behind, sliding my hands from her thighs up to her chest.
"Babe, not now," Michelle chuckled.
"Why not? I just tucked Billy in for his afternoon nap."
"I'm busy," she continued to arrange her make up. "I need to make sure I don't leave anything behind."
"You should do that," I agreed. I slid my hands into the waistband of her shorts and pulled it down.
"Babe!" Michelle snapped.
"Just keep working," I told her and pressed myself onto her butt. I spread her thighs with my right hand and cupped her over her panties with my left.
She suddenly turned around and put her arms around me. "Dollface, it's going to be fine," she whispered. "LJ's going to heal right up because that's what your body does at 24. And Steve will come back."
Michelle pulled me closer in her arms and I rested my cheek on the top of her head. She stroked my neck with her hand, slightly tugging the hair at my nape with her fingers. Her warmth was cozy. "I really want sex, though," I said, squeezing her butt. And she laughed.
"Rumors abound concerning a popular male singer caught performing lascivious acts with a top runway model in the ladies room of a posh night club in the city last night..."
We both turned to look at the TV. "What's shocking is a woman came out today claiming she knew who this singer was, accusing him of being a regular sex offender as he had harrassed her in a different bar in the city a few nights before."
I tried to think back to two nights ago and where LJ was. There are too many things happening this week, just too many. My head started to pound.
"She is currently at the police station, filing her complaint. There is no official statement yet regarding which singer she is filing this complaint against, but if the rumours are true, it's shockingly a member of one of the most popular and most enduring boybands in the country today..."
I heard my phone ring. Michelle walked to the dresser to get it and handed it to me. She looked as apprehensive as I felt. It was Ned. "Hey, Tiger," he said. "We have a problem. Some woman is claiming you harrassed her in a bar Sunday night. The police have called us and want to ask you a few questions. Is this something I should worry about?"
I looked at Michelle. "Babe," I said. "I think we need to call your mother."
