FIVE YEARS AGO

One fine afternoon, Maxwell was waiting for me by a deserted street. We went to the backyard cafe at the furthest corner. He looked anxious and then leaned back and I felt him reveal his true nature to me. Maxwell was old, I felt that age in his bones and it made my brain freeze, while his scent changed to something sweet and powerful and I had to fight myself from moving from my chair and taking all the energy from him.

" Why did you do that ?" I scolded him in disappointment.

" I want you to know what I am " He shrugged his shoulders.
