The chief stared at Xavier, without saying a word. This staring contest went on for a few moments before the chief finally opened his mouth.

Everyone in the room, except Arkham and Xavier, audibly gasped. They looked like they couldn't believe what was happening in front of them.

"The… The chief finally spoke!"

A guard who was standing at the doorway shouted with shock evident in his tone, and Xavier was quick to catch on what was going on.

"Were you not able to speak before meeting me?"

"Yes, your presence alone has somehow given me the energy to voice out my thoughts. It feels like a dying flame inside me was fed upon the fumes of a miraculous energy.
