can't you see?
The evasive lucid dreams of the youth,
fading with no trace,
as if their merely a wisp.
a figment of imagination.
aspirations don't stay.
shut down by the disapproval of peers.
"you won't make enough that way."
"you've to be a doctor or lawyer."
"your dreams don't matter."
why do I have to waste my life,
doing something I hate;
sure, bills will be paid.
but it won't be a life of fulfillment.
