Seeing William enter, the four men stood up and greeted him with hugs. Barney, Christmas, and Brian called him "Boss," which surprised Church. He hadn't expected these tough guys he knew to be working for William now.
Thinking that he might also end up working for William in the future made Church uncomfortable. Almost sixty, the thought of calling a kid young enough to be his grandson "boss" gave him the creeps.
"Sit down, guys. We're old friends; don't think I don't know you're just flattering me," William said, aware of Church's presence, avoiding using his authority. However, since Barney and Church were his secret subordinates and got along well with each other, they respected William greatly.
Brian's respect stemmed from William being his boss before and having recently saved his daughter and niece. William was also funding his campaign and asking nothing in return, just helping when needed. Hence, Brian's attitude toward William was the best.
"Alright, let's get down to business. You all know why I called you here, right?" William asked.
"Of course, Church has already filled us in. Thanks for remembering us for this money-making opportunity, Boss. Even if you want us to blow up a hotel, it's fine," Christmas exclaimed.
Everyone laughed at Christmas's exaggerated tone, knowing full well that William wasn't here to blow up a hotel.
After the laughter subsided, William said, "I got word that a group is planning to hit the Beautiful People's Hotel vault. Our job is to help them succeed and then quietly take their loot."
"Haha," everyone got excited hearing how simple it sounded.
William continued, "Brian, did you get the counterfeit bonds ready?"
"Of course, boss," Brian checked his watch. "They should be delivered in about two hours. The quality isn't great due to the time crunch, so they'll be noticeable if handled."
"Hehe, that's fine. I just need the quantity. They'll all be burned in the end anyway," William said, handing out information on George and Peter to the four men. "These two are Danny Ocean and Rusty Ryan, a master thief and a con artist. They're the masterminds. Start tailing them tonight; they'll make their move tomorrow night."
"Understood," the four said, looking over the dossiers.
William hesitated before showing them a photo. "This guy is Linus Caldwell, a master thief. But I'm not sure if he's with the Special Services. I know someone named Jason Bourne who looks exactly like him. Church, can you check this out?"
Church took the photo, his face falling as he recognized the man. "I think I've seen him at the New York Special Services office. How did you know something was off about him?"
"Hehe," William thought to himself that not many wouldn't recognize the infamous Jason Bourne, who turned New York's Special Services upside down. But he didn't answer Church directly. Sometimes it's beneficial to maintain some mystery. "Since you recognize him, it must be Albert lining his pockets. Be cautious when dealing with Jason Bourne. He's a special experimental product with excellent skills. Since you've seen him, Church, stay out of sight. Tail their tech expert and keep me updated."
"No problem," Church accepted William's secretive nature, knowing it was part of their mutual interest. This wasn't a security crisis but a lucrative opportunity, so he felt no guilt about going after his colleagues.
"Boss, if Special Services are involved, are we short-handed?" Barney asked, his gaze avoiding William's.
William immediately understood Barney's implication. Seeing the task's simplicity and high reward, Barney wanted to help his teammates, considering the $10 million per person payout. Previously, they hadn't earned $10 million a year collectively.
Brian was also tempted, looking at William.
The money from the heist was trivial to William. The real profit lay in the stock market and the subsequent moves with Old Smith. He initially preferred fewer people for secrecy, but with Jason Bourne involved, four people indeed seemed insufficient.
"Anyone else who joins gets $2 million each. Make sure they keep their mouths shut."
"Understood, sir."
"Brian, get your team ready too. Remember, guys, no mistakes. If you screw up, even if I don't hold you accountable, the bigwigs in Las Vegas will bury you in the desert. This involves a massive sum of money."
William looked pointedly at Church, his least trusted ally.
Seeing William's gaze, Church quickly said, "Hey, William, do you think I have other options? I don't want to get taken out by you guys, especially since this involves the financial elites. I'm not crazy."
William smiled, nodding. "Okay, let's get to work. There's no easier money to be made than this."
"Hahaha, got it, boss."
After giving instructions, William returned to his suite. With Barney's team of six, Brian's five men, and Church, they had twelve people. William was confident these veterans could handle George and Peter, the small-time crooks.
Back in his suite, William cheerfully dragged Jessie to the gym for a workout. After a sweaty session and a refreshing shower, he dressed comfortably with Jessie's help and went to see a circus.
They partied until 4 a.m., returning to the suite for a nap until noon the next day. After lunch, William and Jessie spent the afternoon shopping.
At 7 p.m., William and Jessie walked across the street to the Beautiful People Hotel from Caesar's Palace, sitting in the front row to watch the heavyweight boxing match.
Before entering the boxing arena, William discreetly received an earpiece and receiver from Yin Yang. Barney and the team had provided him with the same hidden earpiece he had bought from the D.C. black market, indicating they had spent heavily on the mission.
Using his clothes for cover, William attached the receiver to his belt and, pretending to scratch his ear, placed the earpiece. Soon, he heard Church's voice.
"Boss, everything's set. Danny Ocean and Rusty Ryan will move tonight. Good thing you recognized Jason Bourne. We found two other groups watching Danny Ocean. One's definitely Special Services, and the other looks like military guys."
