章節 27: Busted
Taking Pedro out of the house was tricky task for Haley. It was not unusual for her to leave the house that early especially sometimes if she gets an emergency call but this time it really felt weird and she was nervous about it.
The task was to take Pedro out if the compound without anyone seeing him. She already planned she would have him in the trunk of the car till she was out of the compound.
They both tiptoed out of her room barely making a sound. She was not expecting anyone to be awake but at least she still needed to be careful. She walked with all her senses alert for any suspicious noise and Pedro following closely behind her.
She marveled at the fact that even while Pedro was right behind her she could barely have a feel of his presence as he moved barely without any noise. She had to turn back from time to time to confirm he was right behind her.
"And where are you going by this time? A voice came from behind her making her freeze immediately. She didn't need to turn back to know who it was.
Haley turned back to see her mother standing behind her with a curious look on her face. The curious look later turned into suspicion as she eyed Pedro from head to toe. Haley was speechless at the moment. How could she have forgetton that her mother was an early riser.
"Where are you going and who is this? Mrs Drinkwater asked with a flat tone.
Even while she had strong suspicion of what was happening she will not like her husband to hear her voice.
"Mum I will explain to you later. Please we need to go now" Haley pleaded with her mother as she knew there was a possibility of her father coming out too.
"Where will you be going by this time? Her mother asked again as became very curious recognizing the look of anxiety on the face of Haley. She turned to look at Pedro also who maintain an innocent look on his face as he made no attempt to say anything for himself. He knew it woukd be best to allow Haley handle everything by herself
Haley walked up to her mother claps her hand together in front of her to show that she was pleading.
"Please mother trust me. When I come back I will explain everything to you. I am okay, I just need to get him out of the house " Haley replied again as she tried to make her mother trust her by holding her hand.
Mrs Drinkwater found it difficult to allow her go without any reasonable explaination. Even Haley knew she woukd have alot to explain when she comes back because seeing a strange man in her house sneaking out together means something must have happened between them.
"Okay go, but make sure to come back to explain yourself " her mother waved her off but the look of suspicioun on her face didnt vanish.
"Mum please don't say anything to father about this " Haley pleaded again
"I won't for now.. Her mother replied with a look that suggested she wasn't really happy with what was happening.
Haley sneaked Pedro to the parking space and signalled him to enter the trunk. Pedro barely said a word as he entered the trunk if her car without complaining. She was glad he didn't protest but yet she was worried barout his silence. He had been too quiet for her liking making her feel like he was planning something else.
