章節 19: SIDE STORY (3) - THE CRANE, GRANDMA AND ADOPTED SON?
This event happens before Kay and the others reached Sakura Empire as a part of the mission.
In the middle of the night, Shoukaku leaves her room to go somewhere, away from Zuikaku and the others. She doesn't want anybody to know her secret. As we know, she's already pledged her allegiance to Kay for saving her sister.
Although she does this for her own benefit, too. She also feels the resentment towards Kaga and Akagi. With Kay as powerful as it was to overcome the Sakura Empire alone, she figured this was a perfect opportunity for her to take revenge. After all, she's going to have a new ally who will help her out.
Since Kay doesn't really care about the Sakura Empire, this opportunity is liked killing two birds with one stone. But that doesn't mean she's going to betray Kay afterwords. She'll keep track of him as her heart already chooses him.
"Nobody around," Shoukaku said as she glanced around, trying to make sure no one was close to her. "This is the place, I guess. Sometimes, I've always seen a bird that keeps following Zuikaku. I'm pretty sure the bird belongs to Shikikan".
Suddenly a bird is sitting on the head of Shoukaku. The good thing is, she's not surprised, as the others always do. Since Shoukaku is calm, the bird begins to move and land on her shoulder.
Mr. Eagle gives Shoukaku an ear pod, which is the only way to reach Kay. After that, the bird flies and stares at Shoukaku 's eyes until it's left her alone.
A few seconds later, the ear pod rings, and Shoukaku answers the call. A man's voice can be heard, it's Kay.
"Looks like you look fine, Shoukaku," Kay said via communicator. "How's your sister doing? ".
"Shikikan! "I miss you," Shoukaku said. "Zuikaku is doing all right, she 's back to herself. But, please, listen to me, Shikikan".
"Kaga-senpai and Akagi Senpai are really mean to me and Zuikaku," Shoukaku said in annoyance. "Not only did they try to kill us, but they also gave the others a false report."
Shoukaku is trying to whine about all the poor things Kaga and Akagi have done to her and Zuikaku. Since there's no room for her to say to anyone about their problems. At least, she should share something that makes her upset at Kay. Kay's just listening to her whine without talking anything about it.
But this is also a great opportunity for Kay to ask Shoukaku for a favor. Kay had already known the sacred tree of the Sakura Empire. But it's very problematic if he had to fight there to accomplish his mission.
He needs someone to get Nagato and the others out of there. It's around an hour as he can quickly conceal the flag after taking it to the sacred tree.
"Can I ask you a favor, Shoukaku? ", asked Kay.
"Everything for my shikikan," Shoukaku replied. "I 'm going to do whatever you want me to help you."

Kay gives Shoukaku some details of his strategy for the Sakura Empire. Shoukaku listened carefully and diligently to the Kay 's request. To be fair, she expecting Kay will destroyed some part of the Sakura Empire, thanks to Prinz Eugen and the others. Her suspicion is proof to be incorrect.
"I can do that, shikikan", said Shoukaku. "But, are you sure that is your only motive? I mean, we already destroyed your school".
"There's no need to worry, Shoukaku." Kay said that. "I know what I'm going to do. I just hope, Enterprise is not trying so hard to oppose this plan".
"Well, someone feels very popular," Shoukaku said as she giggled at Kay a little.
"I'm going to take that as a compliment," Kay said. "But, hopefully, as I asked you, you could do that, Shoukaku."
"Just to be clear, I can defeat them, but it's not a wise move," Kay said. "I prefer to be as silent as possible. There is no need for me to strike any of you".
Shoukaku understands what Kay is trying to say to her. It's true that Kay doesn't want to attack anyone in the first place. If he can avoid fighting with them, he can at least try to do so. Even though, it has only a small chance of success.
"By the way, shikikan. Did you recall what I was telling you before I left? "Ask Shoukaku.
"Yes, I remember that clearly," Kay said. "I'm going to nominate someone to do it. Let's hope that foxes don't mind we 're going to take something from them".
Shoukaku can't hide her feeling when Kay remembers her words. She feels so pleased that she knows that Kaga and Akagi deserve this karma.
Kaga and Akagi are taking light of Kay in the first place. If this mission is working smoothly, what will everyone thinks about Kaga and Akagi, afterwards. Probably most of them will shows the hatred.
"Are you sure you don't want to tell Zuikaku about it? ", asked Kay.
"She's still in a bad condition after shikikan saves her," Shoukaku said. "I'm going to tell her next time she 's ready."
"Alright, thank you, Shoukaku," Kay said. "We'll see you shortly."
"I'll see you soon, Shikikan," Shoukaku said as she ended her call.
Shoukaku is looking up to the sky. It's very pretty, the stars shine brilliantly. The petals of Sakura dropped from the tree, and the breathtaking views of the Sakura Empire. She loves this place, and she's going to do everything to protect it.
Even if, it's taking a side to the enemy commander.

This event happens after Kay already came to the Sakura Empire, and getting lost after wandering around for trying to search the sacred tree.
Slurp.......
"It's very delicious," Kay said as he drank the tea.
"Thank you, young one," said Mikasa. "I never thought I was going to see a human being lost here. Don't worry, young one. Mikasa is going to help you find your way out".
"Well, this has come out of my hand," Kay said in his head. "How's this happen again in the first place? ".
The only explanation he can think is to lost his way in seeking for the sacred tree. He kept walking around until he noticed someone coming in his direction. It's the battleship of the Sakura Empire, Mikasa.
And he's in her room with Mikasa for some reason. She gives him a cup of tea, as she thought Kay was a lost child.
"Let's just drink this tea and get away from here after this," Kay said in his mind. "Hopefully, she's not going to ask me a question I just don't want to answer."
"Tell me, young one. What are you doing here? "As she sat down with Kay, asked Mikasa.
After he heard that, Kay almost slipped his tea away from his mouth. That's the question he just doesn't want to hear.
"Think about it, Kay. You need to think about it, "Kay said. "You already have the most hardship of your life. This is going to be easy as abc".
Kay glances at Misaka as he tries to find a good answer to her question.
"Is there something about my face, young man? ", Asked Misaka. Her face is really sweet and kind, making Kay feel bad when he wants to lie to her.
She is liked a grandmother as Kay thought about her. It is therefore, easier for him to tell the truth.
"I'm just coming here to steal something," Kay said without hesitation. "I also want to find something I'm forgetting about here, too."
"Oh, what a bad boy," Misaka said, chuckling at Kay. "I 'm pretty sure your friends are stealing your item. So, you want to get it back and take something from your mates as a revenge".
"..........Yes," Kay said.
Typically, he's not lying. I mean, he definitely not lying to her completely. It's better for Kay to leave Mikasa with her misunderstood about Kay's motive.
"May I ask you something, Lady Mikasa? ", asked Kay.
"Just call me Mikasa, young one", said Mikasa. "I am to old to.....I mean I am not younger anymore".
"May I ask the direction of the sacred tree, Mikasa? ", asked Kay.
Mikasa is really confused when Kay asks the question. There's no need for Kay to get there. In particular, it's off-limit to outsiders, and only girls from the Sakura Empire can enter. Unless he has permission to enter, although this is quite unlikely.
"Why do you want to get there, young one? ", asked Mikasa.
".........Sightseeing", said Kay.
Well, he 's definitely not entirely telling a lie about this one. After all, one of his reasons for going there is sightseeing.
"Ah, well, the place is very beautiful. So, it certainly takes your attention, young one, "said Mikasa.
Mikasa tells Kay about the elegance of the sacred tree of the Sakura Empire. After that, she told Kay the path of the sacred tree.
"This is working perfectly for me", said Kay in his mind. "Now, time to get out from here. I need to think a good excuse for this".
"By the way, young one. Do you want some cookies?", asked Mikasa while showing some cookies at Kay. The looks at the cookies is pretty good and probably taste good. However, Kay probably rejects her invitation. He has important things to do.
Remember Kay, what everybody always told you when some stranger ask you to receive some cookies. What is your answer?
"Yeah, why not", said Kay.

Some minutes later, Kay is talking with Mikasa. The conversation sometimes happy and sad with both of them are talking quite happily.
Until something appears behind the window, as it is staring at Kay, quite often. It took several seconds for Kay to realize it.
Mr. Eagle staring at Kay as it is trying to remind his duty. The reason why he is at Sakura Empire to be exact.
Kay looks at his watch, realizing he is already late to meet with the others. He also forget to find his sword.
"Hey, it is a bird", said Mikasa. "What are you doing here, young one?".
Mr. Eagle looks at its back, trying to find the one who Mikasa called the young one. After seeing nothing at its back, Mr. Eagle looks at Mikasa, only to find out that it is the young one.
"Well, I definitely should go, Mikasa", said Kay. "I have something to do".
"Alright, young one. Please be careful", said Mikasa. "Here take this cookies with you".
Again, remember what everybody always told you when some stranger ask you to receive some cookies. What is your answer?
"Yeah, why not", said Kay. "I mean who is dumb enough to reject some cookies".
Kay takes some cookies from Mikasa and leaves her room as soon as he can. Mr. Eagle is following him while he is trying to locate the sacred tree.
"It's too late to meet the others," Kay said. "First of all, I will go to the sacred tree. You 're going to find my sword, Mr. Eagle.
The bird nodded and flew away from Kay, trying to find his sword. Kay was also trying to concentrate on this mission with his duty.
At least, this time, no blood has been spilled. It's a wise move for Kay to avoid fighting with Mikasa when she sees Kay roaming around.
"Now, let's placed this spear on the sacred tree," Kay said.
