----Okay holy shit, I got like super sick didn't finish this chapter I was gonna release it the morning after the previous one, but Like said super sick. Here's the finished chapter I am gonna go die in real life because oh boy. Every-time I cough I feel my chest rattle, so I really hope I don't have something bad. I wanted to release a total of 6 chapters, but I will just have to make up for it next time.------
A couple of soldiers clad in a very decorative armored robe came out. Actually they might've not been soldiers at all. I could ask Hio, but it didn't seem to matter that much. So I just watched as they flipped through some notes and walked around.
When they finally stopped at someone they gave them directions it looked like and moved on. After the first person they started directing other people around and out the area. Eventually only five people weren't directed any where. Which was certainly interesting...
One of the two ceremonial soldiers addressed us. "Everyone who hadn't been told to leave you are the 5 who will be assigned. You will all be sent to a temporary home while in the city during that time I am sure you will get your orders so any questions?"
Hio moved in to ask his question, "Wait so that's it? There is just no award ceremony or anything like that? Not even some kind of announcement?"
"Of course not, this was not a real competition! There is no gold medals for anyone, and anyone who told you that was a liar. This was all mostly for entertainment, as well as a third assessment of everyone's abilities. Now any other questions?"
One of the people I didn't know spoke up, "Wait so this was just for entertainment?"
"Oh indeed, if you wish to..."
"Someone was killed! People were severely injured! We thought we were fighting..."
The speaking soldier sighed a breath and cut back to talking. It was so stiff of a sigh that the girl just froze. "Miss don't interrupt me, the family of the deceased will be compensated the one that killed will be punished and as I was saying before I was interrupted. If you wish to have your own entertainment there will be a play going on in the arena tomorrow."
I raised my hand in a joking matter and the guy pointed at me. "You have a question?"
"Yeah, what about the island?"
He just smiled, "We don't know what you mean. 14 people were sent to the island and 14 people survived. You all did well, is that all?"
His tone was a little creepy and had actually made me shiver slightly. The unfeelingness he had in his voice was stabbing. It made me realize this really really wasn't a normal soldier. The robe was clearly something special. It then struck me, they were executioners. The robe hid there face just like a executioner's hood, but more fire nation based. It also meant they were like fire benders and powerful ones at that.
They motioned for us to follow them. "Let us bring you lot to your temporary homes."
It made me think about their roles. If i had to guess theses two guys positions would be that of the fire benders that joined Ozai on the airships during Sozin's comet. The ones that would scorch the landscape, either that or they were some kind of specialized weird fire bending. Much like sparky sparky boom man or that lady that blew her own head into pieces in Korra.
The robes covered there feet, but the robes didn't move at all and it looked almost like they were gliding on the ground. It was so weird... Honestly I was curious beyond belief and i kind of wanted to know what they were like.
Walking in silence as the two executioners led us around was clearly boring, because Alexia spoke up. "Hey, so does the other guy talk? or like is it just you."
"Hahaha, very funny. However you are right in your assessment. Shai here can't speak for he doesn't have a tongue." Alexia shivered and the other three froze up for a second. It seemed Hio and the two randos were all shocked by what he had said. I mean they watched someone die right? So why would they be shocked.
I raised my hand again, "Yes? What is it?" Everyone kind of looked at me and as I spoke everyone started shaking there heads, but the two executioners. "How did he lose it?"
"Hmmmm, he lost it because he leaked fire nations secrets. Very important secrets..."
I raised an eyebrow, "You both are criminals along with executioners?" The girl who had interrupted the guy earlier gulped and whispered a rough "*Executioners!*"
The man smiled again, his eyes were blocked, but his lower face was exposed. Now that I look at him as he stared at me, I realized he wasn't staring. "Indeed, we are considered criminals. Serving not only our sentence, but dealing with the direct punishments we were handed."
Hio realized it like i did and begun staring at the man. "You're blind!"
"Indeed! Now let us continue our stride." The man never had acknowledged my comment on him being an executioner. Except now that I knew the fact the two were basically scarred it made me forget about the two possibilities I thought about earlier.
Now however it was question how they keep these guys working? Why keep them to work like this? I could now understand why the guy was so stiff though. I wanted to tear out my hair from my curiosity. Except I was certain I wouldn't get anymore questions answered. It felt like I was just a fan of the series again, hearing about all these cool ideas and theories. Yet I was here! Still stuck in the infinite rabbit hole of questions and curiosity.
I sighed, I could always just ask Azula or something. Maybe Hio would know about who they are? He was a history buff. I shrugged and got ready to strike up a conversation with him while we walked.
Just gonna leave this here, the two excutioner guys are based on the idea of a inquisition. Also I got a joke prepared for this.
