As Arin and Cassiel enter the evil entity's lair, the dungeon's heart beats like a monster drum. Its shape flickers through horrifying, half-seen pictures from their greatest fears as shadows come together to form a terrible beast. Sometimes it takes on a familiar form—features from their past, their departed loved ones, or even their own faces, distorted and fractured. The entity's eyes change like darkened stars, and its laughing is a horrible, unearthly sound.

Feeling the time fragments pulsating at their own core, Arin steels themselves. Every ounce of their existence tells them that this is the last battle, and the stakes have never been greater. They look at Cassiel, who breathes in labored gasps and has a grim resolve on their face in spite of the injuries that have made them weaker. Cassiel fights beside Arin despite their wounds, unwavering.

The uncontrolled energy in the air around them rips at their thoughts, tugging at their darkest memories and deepest fears. However, Arin feels Cassiel's palm touch theirs in the middle of the clashing shadows—a tiny, rebellious gesture that grounds them.

In a show of fire and rage, they surge forward, steel and magic clashing with the entity's terrible might. Arin uses the Time Fragments with surgical accuracy, slicing apart the entity's form layer by layer until it is completely disassembled. Cassiel drives the beast away with each stroke, lighting the night, but each one damages them both.

As the conflict heats up, the desperate creature lashes out with ferocious rage. It knocks Cassiel to the ground in one vicious attack. As they leap to Cassiel's defense, Arin's heart beats, releasing a surge of energy that temporarily pushes the beast back.

Then a terrible image emerges as the Time Fragments pulse. Arin sees a decision—a devastating one. It takes an anchor, a sacrifice, to keep the monster trapped in the chaotic dimension; force alone cannot destroy it. At the expense of their own freedom, Arin must either utilize their might to imprison the creature in an endless state or Cassiel must devote all of their remaining energy to the bond.

When they both notice it, the decision's weight looms between them like a death knell. Their body trembles as Cassiel's eyes sharpen and they attempt to force themselves up. Arin is overcome with feelings they can hardly control, including intense love, furious protectiveness, and a drive to defend Cassiel at all costs.

Reaching out, Cassiel steadies herself in anticipation of the last strike. They conceal the sadness in their eyes as they say, "I'm ready," in a quiet but determined voice. "I went down this route, Arin. For you, for all that I have battled for.

However, Arin takes a step forward, lifting a hand to erect a barrier around Cassiel while a tear slides down their face. They speak in a soft, yet firm, whisper. "No, Cassiel. I've gotten everything from you. You gave me motivation to continue fighting, a purpose to hope. Let me now provide you with a future.

When Cassiel learns of Arin's plans, their eyes expand in fear. Screaming Arin's name, they beat against the barrier, but the enchantment is unwavering. Cassiel looks on helplessly as Arin marches ahead, alone with the monster creature and the whirlpool of chaos and darkness around them.

The last thing Arin sees is Cassiel's face, which has a look that combines sadness, anger, and fear. Then, with their every remaining strength, Arin dives deep into the beast, using all of their might to shut it away. They both disappear, the last traces of chaos flickering as the barrier breaks and the black realm draws them in, the entity's scream of rage resonating in the empty room into quiet.

With a heartbroken scream ripped from their mouth, Cassiel falls to the earth. They are left alone as the darkness around them fades, saving the planet, but at a price that breaks them to their very core.
