Giselle had stopped crying and was comforted by Kane's firm embrace as she sat on the bed. She was sipping a cuppa of hot honey and ginger tea as Kane was about to speak with her. A sound was heard coming from the bedchamber door.

He could tell it was Deacon.

Kane's voice echoed about the bedroom as he shouted at the door. "It's open!"

Looking up, Giselle could see the unmistakable look of annoyance on Kane's face, accompanied by a sigh of exasperation.

"I would like just one moment of peace with my wife without disturbance. I have not had one in weeks."

Giselle moved her head up and down in agreement with his statement. At that same moment, her stomach grumbled, and her body had a sudden craving.

She abruptly announced to Lord Alexsander, "Kane, I am hungry."
