章節 16: Some Alone Time

Everyone was aware that Judith had locked herself away from her family for the third month at this point.

She downloaded tons of books and movies about werewolves while she learned and tried to understand them better, per her psychologist advise.

She watched a lot of romantic comedies to be sure that liking werewolves weren't wrong.

While she was away, she observed and researched them to feel better.

She learned about the many systems, mates, bonds, the moon goddess, and other things. That helped her realize that she was his mate and that there was nothing they could do to change that.

Her parents, who were unaware that her husband and his family were werewolves, accepted the fact that their daughter had experienced something unusual while trekking with her cousin, Serena.

They also, like herself, had no idea who their daughter was.

Judith solely welcomed the Priest's visits.

She got torn between leaving her husband as quickly as possible and accepting him for who he was.

She nevertheless would recall the sacrifices, love, bond, comfort, and several other things they shared throughout their entire life together.

She got reminded to make peace with her inner voice and let her family in by the priest she had initially assumed would be of use to her.

She recalled the day when she had rushed into his arms. She continued to find solace in his embrace for almost 45 minutes.

Without once asking her what the issue was, he appeared to have realized that she was distraught. That aroused her interest. The Priest was a distant relative of her husband.

'Did he also know?' She kept thinking about it but lacked the confidence to ask.

She had no idea that his priesthood was more of a mask. He had also traveled with them into the timeline.

Mark walked the room, recalling the incident three months ago and attempting to understand and remember where he would explain everything;

The way his wife had responded alarmed him. He anticipated the day she would learn the truth about them, about their origin. But he never imagined it would happen on that particular day.

"So what exactly are you telling her?" Sage asked Mark as he collapsed into the sofa next to him.

After Sage had asked that, Mark abruptly emerged from his thoughts. The abrupt absence of affection from his Beta and best friend upset him.

He wanted to quarrel with him, but all he could manage to say was, "I don't know, man."

He had no qualms about informing her. That was not the source of his anxiety. She would have still left him if she had remembered her previous life.

This time, though, she hadn't and was simply aware of who he was, and her mind, without her wolf, was not receptive to it properly.

"Who else is with her in there?" Mark's father joined them and sought as well. He, too, had received the news and had stopped doing whatever he was doing to support his son.

He was aware that Judith would eventually learn about them, but he too was hopeful that her wolf would awaken before they had to.

"I suppose it's time she found out!" Unexpectedly, Sage became irritated. Before the time traveled, he and Judith had an unresolved argument.

A dispute to which Sage appeared to be the only adherent.

The whispered words, "I'm leaving," the voice behind those words, froze everyone in place.
