"Did you really come here to avenge your pathetic mate? Foolish!"

Safira seized her moment.

She reached out her hand and clawed down Markus' arm. He yelled in pain, releasing her from his grasp as he stumbled back. Safira fell to the ground with a thud. She was on her knees, taking in a deep breath as air filled her lungs once more.

She had cut it close, almost running out of air and fainting. She would not make the same mistake twice. Getting back up on her feet, she approached him. Markus was struggling to come to terms with what was happening.

The wounds Safira inflicted upon him were not healing as they should. She glared at him, as she watched the emotions in his eyes turn to pure fear. Before they could exchange any other words, Safira attacked again.

Markus tried to get back on his feet. He tried to shift into his wolf form.

"Oh no you don't," she warned as she attacked first.

This time, she wounded him on his chest.
