章節 11: It's the time when you return to the city
Dinah dejected shaking his head.
It was not that he was angry or anything because his son did not listen to him, but the defiance was on the trivial and temporary thing.
In this world, where one had the opportunity to soar in the sky through cultivation, women and other material things could be put aside before pursuing power.
Silence!
Dinah did not say anything for a moment and only stared at Damien, pondering over the current situation and his face became emotionless.
Damien felt chill looking at those eyes gazing at him like an owl and was about to distract Dinah when the voice full of authority echoed in the luxurious mansion.
"You have spent enough time in the village, it's time for you to return to the academy,"
Damien lowered his head in reluctance but nodded indicating he had accepted the order.
"Not only that, you will not return to the village ever after departing from here unless you have not become the cultivator of the devotion stage,"
Dinah's voice was dry and rough, full of pain and determination.
Thud!
Damien could not believe the words of Dinah. For some time, he was processing Dinah's words again and again.
It was not easy for anyone to believe in the words of Dinah. The time it took to reach the devotion stage was at least twenty years by any genius out there and from the deteriorating condition of Dinah, it was difficult to say that he would live that much amount of time.
"But father!"
Damien could not help but protest Dinah's words but was halted by Dinah's gaze.
"This is not only the order but also a request by me and your mother, no matter what happens, do not ever forget this request,"
His voice was shaky, lost in some kind of reminisce as he commanded Damien.
Even though it was sudden, Damien understood that his father was not going to change his decision.
He did not even know the reason behind this order.
The fresh evening breeze blew in the air and the coldness of it provided comfort to those heated by the sun's scorching heat, but the father's expression remained the same while the carriage disappeared from the village.
Dinah stood at the entrance door of the big mansion and let out a heavy breath.
He had already planned to send Damien to the city after knowing the boy has become a cultivator in the village, he knew that he could not afford to lose his first son who had harassed the girl related to the cultivator.
And today he felt something ominous in his heart, something really bad so he did not hold back and gave Damien the order which he was hiding in his heart for a long time.
His second son Zeph was useless and Dinah only wanted a safe life for both of them in this village, so he did not need to worry much about him.
Education was for wealthy people in the spirit world and even after being the village chief of this fairly decent village, he could only afford the fees of one son so he did not send Zeph to study in the city.
Thud! Thud!
The sound of footsteps was heard when someone rushed towards the mansion.
Dinah became vigilant and was about to do something when the familiar voice of the lackey was heard.
"Sir! Something big has happened!"
The lackey's voice was shaky while the blood came out of his body profusely.
Dinah frowned upon witnessing such a sight.
"What happened?"
The lackey fell on his knees.
"A cultivator has appeared in the village and disrupted the process of distribution of supplies,"
The lackey's voice quivered while he told the incident.
"He demanded us to correct the distribution list and accused you of being an unfair man, so I fought with him while Sir Necker attempted to escape but was killed by him,"
"What?!"
Dinah's expression was normal in the beginning and later turned solemn.
"Not only that, they hanged Sir Necker on the tree and set him on fire in the name of justice and have questioned your decision to select such a corrupted man,"
Vomit!
The lackey threw up more blood and fell to the ground.
Dinah saw the lackey's body twitching and shook his head.
Stomp!
Dinah raised his leg and stomped the head of the lackey, crushing it into pieces of flesh while the blood stained the ground.
He raised his head in the sky and muttered some words.
"That man has tasted the blood, and can only be stopped if the blood stains the ground once again, whether that blood would be of him or mine,"
The mansion stood like a majestic castle while Dinah went back to the room.
Clatter!
The horses charged forward, their hard hooves clattering against the hard road.
Damien was sitting in the carriage while a man drove it towards the city at a fast speed.
"Why did my father banish me from the village? It was just a girl. If he did not pay my fees and other kinds of stuff, I would have already killed that old bastard a long time ago,"
He was fuming after recalling the order.
"You will realise it pretty soon, my lord!"
The driver gave a creepy smile and changed the direction of the carriage.
"Hey!! What the hell you are doing, you lowlife?!"
Damien cried out in anger.
"Nothing, You raped my precious daughter and killed her, remember? I am just taking revenge for it,"
Thud!
The carriage stopped in the middle of the bushes while a rough-edged knife made its appearance in the driver's right hand.
"You dare to do that? Let's see if you guts to injure the son of the village chief!"
Damien yelled out in fear and arrogance.
"Look at me! I am nothing but a living corpse as I have nothing to live for, do you think I care about my life?"
The driver's eyes were bloodshot and took a step forward.
"No, Stop! I apologise for what I did, I will tell this to my father and get the harshest punishment,"
Damien attempted to manipulate him.
"I don't care!"
Shing!
The knife penetrated through the shoulders of Damien.
