章節 2: Chapter 1: Talking with Lyre
Inside a meticulously organized laboratory, with stainless steel countertops, shelves lined with glassware, and cabinets storing an array of specialized instruments.
The rhythmic whir of machinery and the occasional beep of electronic monitors can be heard, indicating that an experiment is currently underway.
Ryzel, who is dressed in a lab coat, is focused on analyzing data and meticulously recording his findings.
His concentration was destroyed when the door of his laboratory was abruptly opened.
A guy with long pink hair and a disheveled lab coat barged in with a cheeky smile.
"Hey! Ryzel, did you finish writing your research report?"
"Not yet; I plan to finish it by tomorrow. What about you? Are you done with your research?"
Ryzel answered and asked back, looking at his friend Lyre, who suddenly barged into his laboratory.
Ryzel stopped analyzing and recording his findings while listening to his friend's answer.
He saved his progress because he knew that as long as his friend started to chatter, it wouldn't end immediately.
"I actually finished it, but Professor Kane wanted me to try enhancing the effect of the potion I made.
I don't want to continue my research; that's why I submitted it early.
Who would have thought it would backfire? I have one more week to improve it."
While speaking, Lyre went to sit on the chair in front of his table.
"You know Professor Kane always wanted her students to do their very best.
So of course she wanted you to improve what you submitted because there is still time before the deadline."
Professor Kane was known to have the highest standard when it came to her students' output.
She wouldn't settle for anything average; she would always push her students to their limits for them to produce something that could satisfy her.
"That's why I'm already regretting my decision. I shouldn't have submitted it earlier and waited for the deadline," Lyre said mournfully.
"At least you already let Professor Kane check your potion. If you improve it more, your rating for the next field exercise should be higher."
Lyre sighed and said, "I know, I'm just getting lazy."
"Oh, your laziness is kicking in again? Don't worry, I can always help you with that," Ryzel said with a smile.
Lyre shuddered while looking at Ryzel's smile.
"No need to bother; I can manage," Lyre said immediately. He doesn't want the devil to monitor him again.
Lyre quickly diverted the subject to Ryzel, not wanting to discuss obtaining assistance from his friend any further.
"Anyway, Ry, why don't you pause doing your research and focus first on your love life? You are getting married next month, right? "
"It is still next month; there's plenty of time left to do my research," Ryzel said nonchalantly.
Ryzel wanted to finish his current potion research, so despite the fact that he was getting married in a month, he stayed in his research lab.
"Tsk, tsk, you're really a hard worker.
