He tossed that threat over his shoulder and left.
Qin Wan hurled a pillow towards the door, but it fell to the floor before reaching it.
She took several deep breaths in a row, her lips pressing together and her eyes growing dim as she thought of Mu Shaocheng's threatening words.
Half a month ago, she had been trapped by her stepmother's siblings and called her brother Qin Zheng for help.
By the time Qin Zheng arrived, he found her drugged and seriously injured.
As they tried to escape, the scumbag Bai siblings attacked him ruthlessly.
In the ensuing struggle for self-defense, the ones who died were the elderly man and his wife.
By then, Qin Wan was at her limit. Seeing Qin Zheng burst through the door, she passed out.
When she woke up in the hospital bed,
only Mu Shaocheng was there, standing by the window immersed in his video game, the sound thunderously loud.

Qin Wan, weak from blood loss, ran around trying to find help.

In the entire Ye City, only the Mu and Fu families could save Qin Zheng.
Even though, Mu Shaocheng, the man in charge of the Mu Family, and Fu Minghan, the head of the Fu Family, were the last people Qin Wan wanted to ask for help.
But for her brother, she still called them, only to be told: Mu Shaocheng was away on business, and Fu Minghan was on his honeymoon with his pampered wife.
It wasn't until yesterday afternoon that she received a call from Mu Shaocheng, saying he could help her rescue Qin Zheng.
The condition was: she had to marry him!

She got out of bed to look for clothes.

She cursed through clenched teeth: Mu Shaocheng you bastard!
Frowning, she slowly walked into the wardrobe.
After picking out some undergarments from the closet, she also grabbed a long-sleeved shirt and pants.
Yesterday, she had only brought a few sets of clothes with her.
The rest were at her apartment and the Su Family's place.
After getting dressed, Qin Wan gathered up the sheets and went to open the door.
Aunt Chen was holding a new bedding set.

Aunt Chen glanced at the bed, noticing the sheet was gone.
She turned to Qin Wan in surprise, "Young Madam, the sheets..."
Qin Wan was still quite shy at heart.
Thinking of how rudely that jerk had treated her last night, leaving her body covered in bruises and hickeys,
she flushed with heat again.
Turning towards the bathroom, she said calmly, "I've already thrown the sheets in the trash. Just put on the new ones."
"Young Madam, where did you throw them?"
Qin Wan's steps halted.
