Yang Yun placed his hand on her chin to force her to look at him. His lips curved into an assuring smile. "I'm fine. You heard your grandpa." His tone was gentle and coaxing. "He has been treating me personally. Don't you believe in him?"
"I believe in my grandfather. It's you that I don't believe in. Who knows what kind of things you've been doing whenever my grandfather wasn't looking."
Yang Yun placed a hand on his chest, feigning hurt. He laughed when he saw the sour look on her face. "I might not listen to your grandfather all the time, but haven't I been listening to you?"
Mingyue narrowed her eyes as she looked at him.
He patted the space on the stone bench. "Come. Help me to sit on this bench."
Mingyue looked at him questioningly. "Why?"
"So I can sit right beside you."
A smile bloomed on her face. She pulled the wheelchair close to the bench. Before she could support Yang Yun to sit on the bench, Yang Yun had lifted his body and sat down. He patted the space beside him and looked at her. "Sit down."
Mingyue sat down obediently beside him with a frown. Her eyes widened when she felt him pulling her to his embrace. She lifted her head to look at him, but he pressed his hand lightly on his hair.
"Rest."
Mingyue stiffened in his arms.
"I feel bad for you. You must be tired running back and forth from the Imperial Infirmary and your grandpa's place to look after me," Yang Yun explained his action. "Rest."
Mingyue stayed in his embrace for a while. She took a long breath, and his scent filled her nose.
Somehow, his fragrance made her relax. Her shoulders dropped, and she could instantly felt her fatigue disappeared. Her eyes fluttered as she fought her sleepiness away. "I'm fine."
Yang Yun smiled as he heard her voice. His hands continue to caress her soft hair as if he's trying to coax her to sleep. He frowned when Mingyue raised her head to look at him.
Mingyue stared into his eyes and smiled. "I'm fine. Really. Coming here and know that you are here waiting for me makes me feel that everything's alright."
His eyes darkened at her words.
He knew that feeling well. Just thinking about having someone waiting for him in the capital in later days made his heart bloom with happiness.
He wished that he could push forward their wedding day, but he will have to wait until the renovation on his house is complete, and until his mother moves into the capital.
He heaved a sigh, leaned in against her and planted a kiss on her soft lips. When they parted, he can see the sparkle in her eyes.
Another smile bloomed on her lips. Mingyue was about to open her mouth to say something when she sensed a figure suddenly appeared from behind them.
Before she could turn to look at the person's face, she could feel a gust of winds went past her.
Swiftly, Yang Yun instantly pulled his fiance into his embrace to dodge an attack.
