I was still laying on the ground with my back, my body and muscles were aching all around.

Step, Step, Step.

I heard steps approaching us, slowly I shifted my head to the source of the sound.

"W-What happened…?" It was Haruka Maki.

My eyes widened as I stared at her body.

Her face, the left side, was fully burned and messed up.

The clothes on her left side were also burned, and parts of her skin were visible to me.

"Ah…"

I tried mustering up whatever force I had to stand up, bow, and apologize to her.

"I… I'm truly sorry for what I did, I apologize from the bottom of my heart. I didn't mean to hurt you, I swear, you're our precious comrade after all." My voice was shakier than I had wanted it to be.

"N-No, don't apologize, it was not your fault, kgh…" She took hold of my shoulders, telling me that it was not necessary of me to apologize, and then her burned skin probably stung her.
