The essence of me, is a shadow of you.
The shadow of me, is a tale of your tomorrow.
Desperate runs your heart, Desolate be your rage.
Desperate was your love, but depair be your grace.
On spoken dreams, grew our strength
Unspoken words, our poison.

Twisted minds, sprung forth thoughts,
As our rage broke us true.
We were blind and foolish, young.
But now you're gone for good.
Haunted eyes be my fate, as cold regret
Sought my soul.
Father, Father, why have you forsaken me.
Why did you leave me, left me tortured,
Left me unwell, left me untrained
Left me alone.

To Him that understands, love is fleeting.
To him that believes, God is faithful.
To Him that doubt's, pain is coming
.
To Him That falls, learn to stand.
For there is no father, no grandfather,
No elder, no protector, and No provider.
Father, Father, Father, cold lies your body,
missing be your soul. Gone is the light from your eyes.
And Broken be the children you left behind.

My inspiration comes from my mistakes and failure if not really being there for my Dad before he died. I thought I was supporting him, but it wasn't enough. My inspiration for the poem is about how much I wish we had more time together. Daddy K is short for Daddy kelvin. He died this year. (remember the date written)
