They got to the village again and walked in front of a church. There were devotees to whatever they worshipped and also a cat and a mouse. The small animals were sitting one next to the other. One licking its paw and the other one observing the passerby. They were natural enemies but they sat there one next to the other.

"Do you see that cat and that mouse, Mike?"

Mike glanced where Stephan kept his eyes. He was surprised by two things; first, the fact that a rat was next to the cat, second, the fact that it was small. Normal rats in Valtrar were fat and in the size of the cat while the latter was bigger. There weren't that many cats in the world; the few that survived the Plaguelands became bigger and fiercer.
