章節 1: The day I died
I always wondered how my life would end. If it would be a quick painless death while I am asleep or if it would be a long and drawn out one as I slowly bleed to death from trying to be heroic. But what I never expected it to be from is the animals that I love most in the world. Yes, in a cruel test of fate I was bitten by a snake that I was trying to help.
Let's rewind a bit, I woke up in the morning like any other normal day of my life. I got out of bed brushed my teeth and got ready for the day. The only difference was that I was super excited as the new Primal hunter book had just come out and I couldnt wait to get my college lessons for the day over with so that I could read it.
I rushed through the day barely listening to any of the lectures I attended as I thought about what awaited me when I got home. The day couldn't end soon enough and as soon as it was over I rushed to my bike to peddle the few kilometers to my rented flat close by.
I almost made it too, as I was but a scant 500 meters from my flat when I saw it. A poor black snake had slithered under a rock pile when one of the rocks must have slipped and pinned its tail to the ground.
As an avid lover of snakes myself I couldn't let it just die, so I slowly lent my bike up against a nearby tree and crept closer.
As the distance shrunk between us I couldnt help but notice the snakes beautiful amethyst eyes and jetblack scales with a hint of purple at the ends of some of its scales forming a stunning tapestry of interweaving patterns. I had never seen or heard of anything like it and couldn't help but wonder what type of snake it was. My first thought would be that it is a young black mamba but I dismissed that thought soon after as I had never seen or heard of a black mamba that had purple eyes or scales that this snake did.
I dismissed my wondering thoughts to the back of my mind for another day as it made no difference what type of snake it is as I will try to free it anyway.
I slowly stretched my hand out and gently grabbed the rock and lifted it up. I sighed in relief when the snake didn't move and I managed to move the rock away safely. I stood back up from my crouched position and was just congratulating myself on a mission well done when I felt a sharp burning pain start coursing through my ankle. I stared down in shock to see the snake that I had so admired earlier hanging of my leg.
I lost all power to my legs and collapsed to the ground with the snake still valiantly hanging onto my ankle. Which brings us back to the present as I lie down on the gazing up at the stars as I regretfully think about how I will now never be able to read the new primal hunter book.
I closed my eyes at peace with everything for the first time in my life as i accepted my death when all of a sudden a loud ding reverberated throughout my head.

[ GUS is now online scanning individual for initial parameters...]
[Error! subject contains two souls. Annexing the inferior soul. Soul destruction will take place in three seconds...]
My eyes shot back open when I saw this. I was okay with dying but i sure as all hell was not okay with my soul being destroyed. And how the hell do i even have two souls in the first place cause as far as i know there has only ever been one person in my body.
[Soul destroyed. fixing connection between soul and body]
This was the last thing I saw before everything went black.
