章節 465: Talk to him
Lia turned away, as her eyes started to fill with tears again... what did she expect? Her father was extremely disappointed in her, everyone was at this point... she knew she deserved it, but at least someone should have tried to understand her and give her a chance to explain herself.
But it was clear that she would not be given that kind of chance. It just hurt a lot, her father, her favourite person, her pillar, he had never ever been this upset with her or even upset with her at all, but now he was extremely angry with her, she could see how when he looked at her, his eyes were filled with nothing but disappointment.
Lia blinked away the tears forming in the corner of her eyes, it was early and she didn't want to start crying again, there was honestly no point, her tears didn't do anything, if anything it made those that were angry with her even more upset with her.
"Are you hungry?" asked Lia as she smiled and turned her attention to Pete, she didn't want to think about her father right now.
"You know... you should try talking to him..." said Pete as he knew that Lia was trying to change the subject. and he didn't think that it would be good for her to do that.
"No... I don't think so... he doesn't want to talk to me, see me, he doesn't want anything to do with me... you know what let's not talk about it, you should go eat something" said Lia as she didn't really want to talk about this.
"Lia I'm being serious... you don't know that for sure... he might be silent now, but what if he's actually hurting on the inside because he secretly blames himself for what happened?" asked Pete as Lia weighed his words in her mind and she took a deep sigh.
"Well he shouldn't... it's not his fault... it's mine... I did what I did, he didn't make me do what I did, I did it myself" replied Lia.
"You may know and accept that, but he doesn't know that, it's a new day, you need to talk to him" said Pete as Lia looked at him.
"But he doesn't want to talk to me, it's clear from what just happened... Pete, I don't want to make things worse than they already are... we should just leave them like this... I can handle this, but I won't be able to take it if things turn out worse" said Lia as she sigh.
"I understand your fears Lia, but honestly, if you ask me... talking things out it always the best" said Pete.
"You weren't able to do that yesterday because it was just all overwhelming at the time, but you can certainly do that now" said Pete.
"I don't think he wants to hear anything from me" said Lia as she looked down, she had never been in a situation like this before, she had never had both her parents extremely angry with her at the same time, it was just all so overwhelming and it made her feel so sad.
"You'll never know unless you try Lia... come on, you can do it, all you have to do is be honest, and show that you are sorry for what you did, which you are right?" asked Pete as Lia nodded.
"Then there's nothing for you to be afraid of, he's your father, and regardless of what you do, he still loves you... it might be hard to see that right now, but it's the truth and instead of being sad and feeling terrible try to make things better than they are right now" said Pete.
"You are right..." said Lia as she looked at him and Pete smiled at her.
"Yes I am" he replied.
"Fine... you are right... I should talk to my dad..." said Lia as she took a deep breath.
"Wish me luck..." she said as she looked at him.
"You don't need luck, you will be fine" said Pete as he smiled and Lia could not help but smile softly at him.
He just gave her so much support that she didn't know she needed and she was sure that she didn't deserve.
Lia proceeded to walk to her father's office as she took a deep breath and knocked lightly on his office door waiting for a reply, she was unsure that he would let her come in, but to her surprise she heard his low voice telling her to come in.
Lia was sure that her father thought it was the maid at the door and not her, or else he would not have let her come in.
Here went everything, Lia slowly opened the door as she entered into her father's office as he was not even looking up, he seemed to be looking at a framed picture on his desk.
"Daddy... can I talk to you?" came Lia's small still voice as Cecil looked up at her, his face void of any emotion.
This scared Lia, she had never seen her father look at her with such an emotionless face before, she felt as if cold water had been poured all over her, she did not feel like she could talk to him... no not like this.
Cecil just looked at his daughter, on the inside, he wanted to comfort her, to tell her that he was sorry for what happened, but he knew that he was at fault, he always pampered her, that was his problem and Alyssa had been warning him about that every since Lia was a toddler, but he never listened, he never wanted his daughter to feel hurt or not have anything she wanted, but it came back to bite him.
If only he had been more hard on her instead of soft, maybe this would not have happened. Well he was going to start now, even if it was too late he didn't care, he knew that his daughter wasn't a bad person, she just allowed bad circumstances to shape her actions.
Cecil was silent, just looking at her, he did not acknowledge her presence neither did he ignore it, he was just very distant.
Lia took a deep breath, she never expected anything less... at least he was not shouting at her... that was a good thing, but to be honest she would have preferred having him talk and shout at her instead of this long cold daunting silence.
Lia knew that she had to talk to him, she needed to make him known that it wasn't his fault and that she truly felt sorry for what she had done.
"Can I sit down please?" asked Lia as she hoped for a reply only to the disappointed. Cecil said nothing at all.
Lia was determined not to back down and run away, there was no point, she still lived here and all she wanted was for things to go back to normal and for them to become a happy family again.
Lia did not wait for her father's nonexistent reply, she sat down across him as she looked into his eyes and he looked away.
"Daddy... I am here because there are some things I need to tell you, some things I need to say, and it's alright if you don't want to answer me, it's fine, I just want you to listen to me" said Lia as Cecil said nothing and at this point she did not care if he replied to her as long as he remained there and gave her his listening ears.
"Daddy... I know that you have always done what is best for me and that you never wanted me to feel lonely or lack anything and I really appreciate you for that..." said Lia as she started because honestly, she did not know where to start but she decided that beginning with all the reasons he was a good father to her and why she loved him would be a good idea.
"You have always showered me with unconditional love and you made me feel enough even when I didn't believe in myself, you helped me grow my self confidence, my self esteem, you made me become who I am and I will always love you for that daddy" said Lia as she smiled.
"I love you so much and I know that it looks like I take you for granted most times, but I don't because I really appreciate everything you have done for me" said Lia.
"And it is for that reason that I am sorry that I am a disgrace that I brought shame to our family because of what I did" said Lia.
"Daddy, honestly, what I did were my own actions, I let my jealousy and anger get the better of me, I did something I shouldn't and I will forever regret that I did such a thing to the people I cared about so much" said Lia.
"But the truth is daddy that it's not your fault, what I did has nothing to do with you at all..." said Lia.
