"Mommy why are you and daddy not happy??" asked Joy as she looked up at her mother who had gone quiet.
As Dom was about to turn around when he heard Joy ask that very deep and concerning question, he could not go anywhere any longer, he had to hear what Natasha would say.
So without thinking he opened Joy's bedroom door that was slightly ajar and he walked in quietly and he stood next to Joy's bathroom door, waiting to hear what Natasha would say.
"Oh my baby, what gave you that idea??" asked Natasha as she snapped out of her thoughts and she looked at Joy who was looking at her expectantly.
"Of course we are happy" she said as she smiled.
"In fact we are very, very happy" said Natasha as she smiled.
"Why did you think so my baby??" asked Natasha as she looked at Joy in curiosity, it was weird for a girl that was not even five years old yet to ask such a question.
Dom also had that exact same question, were things that bad that Joy did not think that they were happy???
"Tell me my baby, why did you think so??" asked Natasha as she saw that Joy was hesitant to speak.
"My baby, you are free to say anything you want, so there is no need to be scared, mommy is here to listen to you and to answer all your questions" said Natasha.
"So please tell me why you think that me and your daddy are not happy??" asked Natasha as she looked at Joy.
"Well Mommy, you and Daddy do not act like the other mommies and daddies I see on the tv" said Joy as she looked up at her mother with her big doe eyes.
"And well how do the mommies and daddies on tv act??" asked Natasha.
"Well they hold hands, they kiss, and they always smile at each other" said Joy as she looked down.
"They go to different places together, and they are always looking very happy, but you and daddy don't do that" said Joy as she looked up at her mother.
Natasha sighed, it was not like she had tried to hide the way things were between she and Dom from Joy, they just never spoke about it, it was no secret that they were not on the best of terms.
She wondered if her baby from her past life also thought so, although she had never said anything, but it was very probable that she thought so too, and she had just never said anything.
"Well listen my baby" said Natasha as she sighed and she looked at Joy.
"You are a very smart girl Joy, and there is no need to lie to you" said Natasha a she had decided to tell Joy the truth.
Joy was a child, but that did not mean that she was a baby, often times parents would hide things from their children in an attempt to keep them safe and unharmed, while they forgot that their children were learning too, and they had eyes and ears that worked perfectly like everyone else's.
Lying would only worsen the situation and do no good, and Natasha had decided some time ago that she was not going to be that type of parent, with lies and secrets laying around everywhere, and besides Joy was a very smart girl, she was sure that she would understand clearly.
"Well you see my dear" said Natasha as she looked at Joy.
"Those mommies and daddies you see on tv... they are in... well they are in love" said Natasha.
"Do you know what love is my baby??" asked Natasha and Joy nodded.
"Yes Mommy, I know what Love is" said Joy
"I love you, and I love daddy as well" said Joy as she smiled.
"Yes my baby, I love you too" said Natasha as she smiled at her baby, and Dom smiled too from where he was secretly hearing Natasha's conversation with Joy.
"Yes as I was saying... well those mommies and daddies on tv, they are in love, and when you love someone, you do those things with them" said Natasha.
"You love to see them around you all the time, you smile when they are around, you hold hands, you go out together, you kiss and you do all sort of things together, because you love each other" said Natasha as she smiled and she began to wash Joy's hair once again.
"So you and daddy do not love each other??" asked Joy as she looked up at her mother who was washing her hair.
Dom's heart stopped for a second, that was a very dangerous question, and he was just as curious as Joy was to find out what Natasha's answer would be.
"Yes my baby" said Natasha.
"We do not love each other" said Natasha as she began to rinse the shampoo off Joy's hair, and Joy closed her eyes.
"Your daddy does not love me and I do not love him either" said Natasha as she looked very serious.
"We used to love each other, as good friends" said Natasha.
"But not anymore" she said and Dom just went quiet, he was sure that Natasha would have said something the total opposite of the answer that she just gave Joy.
"But why mommy??" asked Joy as all the shampoo was rinsed off her hair and she opened her eyes once again.
"Well my baby, the reason..." said Natasha as she paused.
"You know what my baby??" asked Natasha.
"What mommy??" asked Joy as Natasha used conditioner on her hair.
"I will tell you the reason when you are a bit older" said Natasha as she smiled.
"Okay Mommy" said Joy as she nodded her head.
"But what you should know and always keep in mind my baby, is that... people can fall out of love, it's not impossible for people to not fall out of love" said Natasha.
"So she's supposedly fell out of love with me?" asked Dom to himself.
"Mommy, why do people fall out of love??" asked Joy.
"I don't know my baby, there can be many reasons" said Natasha.
"Maybe the person was not like they were before, of maybe you just grew tired of them, or maybe you finally got tired of being rejected over and over again, and you just decided to give up" said Natasha.
"Oh... I see now mommy" said Joy
"Yes my baby" said Natasha.
"But my dear, just because me and your daddy don't love each other, that does not change anything" said Natasha as she looked down at Joy.
"We might not be in love, but it changes absolutely nothing" said Natasha.
"We still both love you unconditionally, no matter what" said Natasha as she smiled.
"And I want you to know that my dear" said Natasha.
"Yes Mommy, I know" said Joy as she smiled at her mother and Natasha smiled back at her.
Dom moved from his spot, and he walked away, he had already heard what he needed to hear, and he did not need any further explanation, he was glad that he was not chanced to speak to Natasha while he was still angry.
Dom made sure not to make any noise, and he walked through Joy's front door as he closed it softly behind him.
"But Mommy, I want you and Daddy to be together" said Joy.
Natasha sighed, it was understandable for Joy to think like that, no child wanted to see their parents separated, it was just too much.
"We are always together when it comes to you my love" said Natasha as she smiled, it was impossible for her and Dom to ever get back together, as if they were together in the first place, she had tried to force it in her last life, and she ended up dead.
She was not going to be so stupid as to let herself make the same mistake again, she was going to run away from him, in fact if she could, she would prefer never to see him again.
"Mommy..." said Joy.
"My baby, let's get you rinsed off so you can go to bed" said Natasha as she smiled.
"Okay Mommy" said Joy as she giggled.
...
"Did you enjoy your bath my dear??" asked Natasha as she looked at Joy.
"Yes Mommy, it was very fun" said Joy as she giggled, she had changed into her pink pajamas.
"Haha I am glad that you think so my dear" said Natasha as she laughed.
"My baby, let's pray so you can go to bed" said Natasha.
"Alright Mommy" said Joy as she kneeled down by the side of her bed.
"I am going to pray for you and Daddy to fall in love again" said Joy as she smiled.
"Oh my baby" said Natasha as she laughed, her baby was something else.
"That is impossible" said Natasha as she laughed.
"But why Mommy??" asked Joy.
"Didn't you say that God answers prayers??" asked Joy as she looked at her mother.
"Yes my baby, yes he does" said Natasha as she smiled, she was a living testimony of that, she was back after she had died.
"But just not this one" said Natasha to herself.
"You see Mommy, so he will definitely answer mine" said Joy as she smiled.
"Dear Father in heaven" said Joy as she began to pray as she closed her eyes.
"Thank you for today, and Thank you for mommy, for daddy, and for everyone" said Joy.
"I pray that you please make mommy and daddy fall in love again" said Joy as Natasha smiled, this was just too cute.
"And make us one big happy family" she said.
"In Jesus name... Amen" said Joy as she opened her eyes.
"Mommy you did not say Amen" said Joy as she looked up at Natasha.
"Amen my darling, Amen" said Natasha as she smiled and Joy giggled.
"Now time for bed" said Natasha as Joy climbed into bed, and Natasha tucked her in.
"Goodnight my baby, have sweet dreams, and I love you" said Natasha as she smiled and she gave Joy a kiss on the cheek.
"I love you too mommy" said Joy as she smiled and she closed her cute eyes.
Natasha stood up and she switched off the lights and closed the door behind her.
