[A/N btw I took inspiration for Charlotte not dying from the 100 fanfic called the orphan king check it out it's really good]
[A day later]
~After burying Wells and saying our final goodbyes. It was time that I gave the punishment to Charlotte.~
"Is this something you really have to do?" Atom asked. "Atom listen, if it weren't up to me she'd be killed, they wanted to kill murphy why wouldn't they do it to her? I am saving her life, but she has to pay the price." I said back to atom as we walked out of the grave site.
~I could feel the weight of the situation heavy on my shoulders as we made our way into the center of the camp, where Charlotte was pinned to two poles. It wasn't an easy decision to make, but it was the only way.~
[A/N was it though🤔 your opinion in the comments]
"No don't do this she's just a kid," Bellamy said as he stepped up to me. "Max you can stop this she's just a little girl she didn't know any better at the time!" Clarke begged as Max ignored her and Bellamy and walked to the middle of the crowd.
"Charlotte killed wells, she cut his fingers and stabbed him in The neck so appropriate justice is to be served," I said to the crowd that was already forming around us.
"Charlotte for the murder of wells you are subject to the light punishment of 15 lashes."
"I took a deep breath and looked at Charlotte who was shaking with fear. "Charlotte, do you have anything to say?" I asked her
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to do it. I was just scared and didn't know what to do." She said, tears streaming down her face.
I couldn't help but feel a twinge of sympathy for Charlotte, but I knew that I had to follow through with the punishment. "I understand that, Charlotte," I said, trying to keep my voice steady. "But there are consequences for our actions, and you have to face them."
At that, I proceeded with the punishment and the crowd fell silent as the first lash came down. Charlotte's cries of pain filled the air, and I could feel the weight of guilt settling in my chest.
As the lashes continued, I couldn't help but wonder if there was a better way.

"At this point, I could see the pain etched on Charlotte's face, and it was clear that she was already struggling to keep herself conscious"
I hesitated for a moment, wondering if I should stop the punishment, but then I remembered Wells, who had been killed by Charlotte's hands. I couldn't let his death go unpunished, and I had to set an example for the rest of the people in the camp.
I took a deep breath and continued with the punishment.

With every lash, I could see Charlotte's body convulsing in pain, and I knew that I couldn't let this go on any longer.
