As soon as the door opened, Charles quickly held onto Grace's hands as if telling her that she didn't have to be afraid of anyone with him by her side while shooting his father a wary look.

Jace was again rendered speechless. Do you need all these drama to make me understand that you care about your nanny?

Anyways that was not important for now. 

What bothered him more was the look Grace was giving him. It was both cold and alienated as if she didn't want to see him.

He felt a pang in his heart when she treated him like that and regretted his exaggerated reaction earlier.

After getting a hold on himself, he approached them. 

"Stop!" he heard Charles say and a deep crease instantly appeared on his forehead.

Before he could ask what was wrong with his son, another command followed.

"A- apolo.. gize."

"What?"

Grace: "…"

Grace's head jerked towards Charles beside her, her eyes widened in disbelief.
