章節 538: Wish Me Luck

Mila was a wreck. She could readily admit that. 

She was grieving Leo's death all over again, hated being alone, and was still trying to wrap her head around how her beloved cat and her boss had worked together to deceive her supposedly for her own good. It didn't help that her father and David kept harassing her. She was getting closer and closer to her breaking point. 

She ended up moving when her lease was up and paying to keep her address unlisted so they wouldn't be able to find her again. It was her only defense at this point. She didn't have anything left to say to them. 

Drew had already said it all. Why had he defended her like that though? She still didn't understand. 

He claimed that he liked her but it was too weird to have fallen for someone while being treated like their cat! He was one weirdo she was definitely better off without…but she did miss having someone around. Like she said, she was a wreck.
