The day went by slowly as I looked forward to my little escape that evening. Most of the time I was in my room picking up all the little things I needed. I also packed some of my jewels in case I would need money so I could sell them
I sat a the balcony and watched the sun set. The sky was filled with beautiful colours of Orange, Blue and other pretty colours. Dinner time arrived and as usual I was the last one to make it to the dinning hall. My sisters were glaring at me and to my surprise my father's wives were all present today and they were also sending glaring daggers at me. All I had to do was eat as much as I could and excuse myself.
"So, his highness told me that there will be a wedding tomorrow." Lady Maribel My father's first wife just had to bring that up. She might be the first wife but she wasn't the Queen. My father chose my mother as his Queen since she was his favorite. After she died he chose he would not have another queen.
"That's right mommy, Lillian will become prince William's wife buy this time tomorrow." Annabell, Everybody's angel commented on what her mother said with a smirk on her face.
I just couldn't wait to get away from this place and all these idiots. I took a mouth full of the meat and started chewing it so I wouldn't comment on their little conversation.
"Why are you eating as if you are running away my dear child?" Lady Valentine, my father's last wife asked with a calm voice while looking at me. She was always nice to me as she had no child of her own and I had no mother.
"Correction Lady Valentine, I think you mean eating like pig." Lady Clarita butted in as usual. She was the fifth wife and she was always getting in my nerves. She's lucky she's my father's wife other wise she would be on a wheelchair by now.
I heard my sisters chuckle at that as it was pleasing to there ears. I chose to ignore all of them except for Lady Valentine.
"Excuse my manners Lady Valentine, its just that I'm very hungry since I have a punishment of not eating lunch." I bowed my head to the lady to show my apologies to her.
"That's ok child, I understand. I didn't know the punishment still stands." she said the last part while looking at my father who was busy with his food and not giving a care of what was happening at the table.
"You know she is very stubborn and so I thought making her skip lunch would remind her of not crossing the line again since she likes eating a lot." My father said as he felt Lady Valentine's gaze on him.
I was done with my food so I got up and excused myself. As I was approaching my room, one of my father's guards came rushing to me.
"The king wishes to see you." He said with a bow and showed me the way.
We reached my father's throne room and the guard opened the double doors and waited out side with the other guard. I walked to one of the seats and then gave my father a bow.
"Take a seat Lily." He said with a calm voice. I sat down and waited for him to state the agenda.
"Look, I know you don't like the idea of being prince William's wife. But we both know that with your behavior no man in his right senses would want to take you for a wife. Your even lucky that he agreed to take you as his second wife. So its either you agree to the marriage or you will have to find yourself another man to call your father. I can not have you turn to a woman in my castle. Your supposed to become a woman in your husbands house."
"But father....."
"No buts. That is my final decision. You are getting wedded tomorrow be it you like it or not. You have been dismissed." He said while raising a hand living no room for discussion. I got out of the throne room and headed for my room.
I also made my decision of escaping from here. I only felt sorry for Grace because she would be depressed when she found out what I've done.
I got a little bag that I took from one of the servants quarters and parked the jewelries I selected and some food I stole from the kitchen. I didn't want to bring along a lot of things as they would slow me down. I waited for everyone including the servants to go to sleep.
After some time I opened my window and tied my bed sheets together so I would climb down the window. I didn't want to use the doors because there was a chance some of the guards might spot me and I would end up being punished again .
I climbed down the window and as quiet as possible headed for the woods which surrounded the castle. I decided not to used the open road as there were always guards at night patrolling the perimeters.
I walked for some minutes and came to another road which led one small village. I thought of spending the night at one of the inns in the village then go to another kingdom the following day. I started following the path to the village.
Finally the small village came to my view .As I was about to enter the village I heard noises of people riding horses from behind me. Not wanting to take any chances I went to hide behind a tree to see who it was. Surprisingly, it was some of my father's soldiers who were ordered to come look for me. I didn't know they would notice I was gone this soon. The soldiers started searching in alleys, inns, restaurants and every other place they could possibly find me.
I started running off to the forest without looking back as I did not want to be caught and brought back to the castle.
"I think I saw someone run off into the forest." I heard one of the soldiers tell his friends as I was running with all my might.
"No, I can't get caught. I don't want to go back to that place. They treat me worse than the servants." I said to myself as I tried to increase my speed. I kept running until my legs couldn't anymore. I realised I didn't know were I was. I got lost.
I didn't know how long I was out here. I started walking and searching for a place where I could rest. As I was about to sit down, I heard something move from behind. I then heard the growling. I was pretty sure it was a wolfe so I started running, for my life this time around.
I suddenly bumped into something hard. I fell down and my bottom hit the ground.
