Chu Xian nodded his head and replied politely. Very quickly, his hands filled with business cards as many people came over and asked about the details of his fish farm and whether they could visit the place.
After talking for some time, Chu Xian left the crowd with a huge smile on his face.

Aristophaneso * so slightly cultural thing, but probably present in some way or form in most places and in high society – accepting a gift means that you need to reciprocate, and so (unless you’re shameless) you don’t usually accept very expensive gifts from people you don’t know very well because that will mean you owe them. Etc. etc. it’s a little more complicated than this because a lot of the times business people who want your help will give you stuff and you have to accept to be polite blah blah.
Long story short, for Jin Hua accepting is supposed to indicate that he doesn’t feel the need to calculate so closely about favors owed and received with Chu Xian, which means that he considers him as a friend.
