The light muslin curtains hanging all around occasionally rose and fluttered with the breeze. When that happened, flower petals occasionally flew in along with the wind and fell down slowly…

Plum, Orchid, Bamboo, and Chrysanthemum refer to the maids. In her thought, Mo Tiange doesn't refer to the four of them by their complete names. She just thinks of them as Mei, Lan, Zhu, Ju (Plum, Orchid, Bamboo, and Chrysanthemum).
