Looks of relief graced the faces of the father and daughter — or maybe grandfather and grandchild — pair. The Door of Conundrum had always maintained its ground that there was no knowledge too sacred or profane to be learned, hence a Great Sage possessing a certain degree of forbidden knowledge was not out of the norm.
The Duke started to feel lucky that Baiyi wielded a certain forbidden power that had now become the only power that could save him, so he stated, "Of course I believe the Church, and I believe in the Apostle, and most importantly, I believe you, Master Hope."
'Gosh, the Cleric's lasting reputation sure was the best tool I have ever had! Of course, the man himself has become corrupted that he has no dignity left at all!'
TL MUSINGS:
Oh, what an end to another small arc!
I think this TL finally has a character they like! I do very admire Vidomina here — she’s feisty, and her talent lies in hexes and curses (like her mom?!), and she’s been through some pretty deep shits — without tumbling and crumbling. And she’s a member of the Doors of Conundrum — she even got in because she wanted to pursuit knowledge to cure her dad/grandpa/gosh aristocrats are creepy! I’m a little biased here because I’m a nerd, but ayyyy!
She was supposed to be Little Miss Deep Pockets, man. From what I had observed, it’s no an easy transition from being “goddamned rich and luxurious” to having nothing. Just a few chapters away she was still smug about her assets, man. Gosh. Here’s hoping she becomes stronger — and with the story about her mom being unresolved, I hope she plays a large role later!
What do you think of this arc? Let us all know!
