The bug was originally rather still in the bowl, only its wings flapped. Hence, its sudden shivering suggested that some external factor must have triggered it. Duan Muyan was troubled, but it was too late for him to do anything. Pricked by a needle, the bug then lay flat in the bowl and started shrieking in pain. 

Duan Muyan tried to perform some spells in an attempt to cut off the thin threads, but the bug soon died away in a pool of blood, leaving only a small piece of skin as a sign of its existence.
