The sun rose over the Thousand Sunny, its golden rays casting light on a peaceful morning. The crew gathered on the deck for breakfast, chatting and laughing. Kikidori, as usual, was scarfing down food like he hadn't eaten in weeks, much to Sanji's dismay.
"Oi, slow down, you bottomless pit!" Sanji yelled, pointing his spatula at Kikidori.
"Sorry, but it's just so good!" Kikidori said with a mouthful of food.
Luffy, who was sitting cross-legged nearby, watched Kikidori with a mischievous grin. "Oi, Kikidori. Let's see if you've gotten any stronger!"
Kikidori blinked, mid-bite. "Huh? Right now?"
Without waiting for a response, Luffy stretched his arm back, winding it up for a punch. "GUM-GUM PISTOL!"
The crew gasped as Luffy's fist rocketed toward Kikidori. But to everyone's surprise, Kikidori leaned to the side at the last second, effortlessly dodging the attack.
"What the—?!" Luffy exclaimed, his fist slamming harmlessly into the mast behind Kikidori.
Before anyone could react, Kikidori disappeared in a blur of movement, reappearing behind Luffy. With a swift but light tap on Luffy's back, Kikidori grinned. "Gotcha!"
The entire crew froze in shock.
"Did… did Kikidori just dodge Luffy's attack?" Nami asked, her jaw dropping.
"And countered him?" Zoro added, his eyes narrowing.
Brook leaned forward, adjusting his hat. "Yohoho! What a surprising twist!"
Chopper jumped up and down in excitement. "That was amazing, Kikidori!"
Even Raiko, who usually had a snarky comment ready, was momentarily speechless.
Luffy spun around, a wide grin spreading across his face. "Oi, Kikidori! Since when can you do that?"
Kikidori scratched the back of his head, looking a little embarrassed. "Uh, I don't really know. It just… happened? Like, I kinda felt where your attack was coming from."
Robin smiled knowingly. "That sounds like Observation Haki."
"Observation Haki?" Kikidori repeated, tilting his head.
"It's a type of Haki that lets you sense the presence, intent, and even emotions of others," Robin explained. "It seems you've awakened it."
"WHOA! I HAVE HAKI NOW?!" Kikidori yelled, his excitement bubbling over.
Franky clapped a hand on Kikidori's shoulder. "Super impressive, kid! Looks like you're leveling up!"
Sanji crossed his arms, smirking. "Maybe now you'll be able to keep up in a real fight."
Raiko snorted. "Don't let it go to your head, noodle king."
Kikidori puffed out his chest, ignoring Raiko's jab. "This is awesome! I'm gonna be unstoppable now!"
"Don't get cocky," Zoro warned. "Haki's not just about sensing attacks. You'll need to train if you want to master it."
"Train? Like… hard work and stuff?" Kikidori's enthusiasm faltered slightly.
Zoro raised an eyebrow. "What, you thought it'd be easy?"
Before Kikidori could respond, Luffy cracked his knuckles, his grin growing wider. "Let's test it some more! Come on, Kikidori, fight me!"
Kikidori's eyes widened. "Wait, right now? I just woke up my Haki, I'm not ready for—"
"TOO LATE!" Luffy launched himself at Kikidori, fists flying in rapid succession.
Kikidori yelped, dodging and weaving as best as he could. His newfound Observation Haki kicked in, allowing him to sense the direction of Luffy's attacks. But his movements were still clumsy, and he barely avoided getting hit.
The crew watched with varying degrees of amusement.
"He's got potential," Zoro said, watching Kikidori narrowly avoid a punch.
"He's also got a long way to go," Nami added, wincing as Kikidori tripped over his own feet.
After a few minutes of chaotic sparring, Luffy landed a solid punch on Kikidori's stomach, sending him tumbling across the deck.
"Oof!" Kikidori groaned, lying flat on his back. "Okay… I think I'm done."
Luffy laughed, offering Kikidori a hand. "Not bad! You're getting stronger, Kikidori."
Kikidori grinned, taking Luffy's hand and pulling himself up. "Thanks, Captain! Just wait, I'll get even better!"
As the crew returned to their daily activities, Kikidori couldn't help but feel a surge of pride. Observation Haki was just the beginning—he was determined to prove himself as a true Straw Hat.
